My bro (19) has anger management problems with paranoia. He is nice sometimes, but goes off of the littlest of shit. For instance, if someone calls who has dialed the wrong number, he thinks they are calling to check if we are here so they can break into our house. Or, if he sees a car going down the road slow (we live in the country) he stares at it out the window until it has gone by, watching its every move - and usually says something like "what the fuck are THEY doing?!". And he goes nuts over this kind of shit! Is there any sort of medication or therapy that I could check into for this kind of problem? They guy smokes TONS of weed, but he still looses his shit over the smallest thing...its weird
Yeah, there's probably some therapie/anti-anxiety meds/stuff like that you could check into. Call your county health dept. or whatever...they might be able to point you in the right direction, as would a doctor...
maybe the weed has a lot to do with that, he should cut down. Therapy always helps... let a doctor prescribe something...
your brother literally sounds exactly like me, not trying to get attention or anything but i read this and every thing you mention he does i do on a reglar basis.i tend to be more of an angry person then paranoid, but paranoia CERTAINLY has its days. i smoke enough weed but im not sure if thats the problem. you see paranoia and anger issues have been my life since i was a kid i was just naturally like that. my parents always knew, but now im older, i know more about lots of things, so i assume im more angry and paranoid for that reason. and i just plain out hate what our planet has come to.
A friend of a guy I met a while back had cannabis psychosis (from, surprisingly, smoking too much weed!) and one of the things about it was that he was INCREDIBLY paranoid. He ended up spending three odd months, I think, in a mental institution. You should tell your brother to slow down on the weed, especially if he's predisposed to getting and psychotic diseases, inherited or something like that.
Some people do get paranoid anxiety attacks on weed, so yeah it's a possibility. Counselling should always be a first choice over medications. I've seen a lot of people who just takes meds for their problems and only get worse...
Diver City, 19 years old is the a-typical age for the onset of psychosis in males It might not be the weed at all....he might just have a predisposition for the particular mental disorder. Then again If he does smoke weed which is illegal he may not be paranoid at all he may simply have the feds on his azz h
Hey, I personally suffered from paranoia for ages whilst smoking weed. I thought the police were coming to get me, my flatmates were gonna kill me, i was gonna die in my sleep, and all sorts of rubbish .. why the police would care about a student smoking cannabis I don't know! Anyway, the paranoia spread into other things (even after i had quit), i thought that the words people used in everyday sentences were directed against me (i now know that these thoughts are known as ideas of reference), to such an extent that I thought that every conversation ever was a battle, a battle for ascendency over the other person, I thought that to win these battles you had to utilise sarcasm to mock your opponents views, attire, techniques, family etc. I named this mode of conversation "the Game" and developed rules and regulations regarding conduct in the Game. The first rule of the Game was that you hadn't to talk about the game (remember fight club, but this fundamental rule kept my Game playing secret for nearly a year),the second rule of the Game was that you HAVE to play the Game, if you didn't you would be cast out and ignored, everyone would know that you were a loser! Or so i thought! Unbeknown to me i had developed cannabis-psychosis. The illness stayed with me four months after I had quit and a further six months beyond being admitted to hospital, and covered far more in terms of conspiracies than I can cover in such a short (well, medium length) post. I'm fully recovered now, it's a year today since i was admitted. I will probably be on medication for the rest of my life because of it! Please warn your brother of the dangers of psychosis. My psychosis started off as minor paranoias. I don't want to get into a debate over whether or not cannabis causes psychosis (it's very difficult to see through the mists of propaganda on either side of the debate), however I'm fairly sure that in my case it did.
