Yes. Almost all other stimulants become a lot more dangerous to take, in combination with Adderall (amphetamine). It will probably make depressant drugs a lot weirder and more dangerous as well (combining uppers and downers is risky). The effects of some hallucinogens may simply be reduced. Even LSD may be less safe to take with amphetamine (due to its stimulatory properties).
Most people think it's harmless to mix speed and alcohol, regardless of what they hear, because from 1st hand experiance they don't see a problem. I know someone who has been doing speed for a while, drinking for a while, and combining the two for a while. Then one night, when they mixed the two, they went into a coma, and started having convulsions, and had to be rushed to the hospital. I've seen other people come in and out of consiousness when mixing the two, when normally, they would have been fine, if they had only taken either the speed or the alcohol. Speed dehydrates you a lot, and so does alcohol. It can be a deadly mix. I know its really, really fun. I do it a lot, honestly. But you have to be very careful.
I have been taking Adderal XR 20mg (2) every morning for adult ADHD, checked my bottle and does not say anything about Alcohol. Only "not to use or operate heavy machienry and may impair your ability to drive USE CARE until you become fmailiar with it's effects". I would say if taking the Adderal as prescribed that Alcohol, which is a depressant would simply reduce the effectiveness of the Adderal. I am also prscribed Valium along with it and many others and have not had any probs. I really do not care for the med myself, only time and tolerance has over the years have at times seem a NEED as I am physically dependant, as is anyone who Takes a habit forming Narcotic daily over time. I would use caution in some OTC herbal suppliments, as some still contain ephedra and some contain other 'natural' stimulants, if in doubt ask your MD or Pharmacist. Yeah I would probably agree with Jabbawaya on this. I've been on adderall for a few months now, and I've realized when I take the more harder drugs, I feel different, I sort of get into a panic sometimes, and you always have to worry about having to calm yourself down and just teach yourself new methods to not get all worked up. be careful
What hallucinations? Speed doesn't give you hallucinations, unless you stay up for days, or take a really, really high dose. Alcohol can be dangerous when mixing with speed, but for me its always a really enjoyable experience, infact I did it last night. But mixing pot with speed is never fun for me. I feel it adds an edge to the speed buzz that isn't enjoyable. I also feel it takes away from the speed buzz, while alcohol contributes to it.
I take 20 mg of Adderall XR daily. This weekend, (it is not tuesday) I am dropping acid for the first time. If I stopped taking my adderall on wednesday, and dropped sometime on friday or saturday, would I be okay, or would I even be okay to just stop taking it on the day I'm going to drop? It's my first time, and I just want to make sure everything goes okay.
dont take it for three days befor speed takes three days to get out of your system,i dont know if it will react to the acid but might as well not worth messing up the trip
I agree. Stop for as long as possible. Let your body rest, so you have have a great trip. Stop for a week if you can.
20mgs of adderall is nothing like methamphetamine or speed. You would be fine to take it the same day you dropped acid, but i guess it depends on your individual intuitive estimation as to how you would react to the two chems in your body. I would say that you wouldn't notice a difference in it based on my experiences with and without adderall on p. cubensis, but I cannot say the same for acid... althought the two chemicals act extremely similar in the body and in the way they effect the brain exclusively. All in all, you are taking 6.3mg of amphetamine salts, which is not nearly as potent as most threshold or low doses of meth. Comparing adderall to speed is a common misconception, although they are somewhat similar in a few aspects. I will, however, warn you about taking too much adderall and drinking with it. If you were to take, let's say... 50+mg of adderall and then drink heavily on top of that, you would most likely notice some of the effects of amphetamine psychosis... a state of mind i would never wish on anybody after both myself and my friend went through that wretched experience. It's no more than a sick, demented state of extreme sadness, aggression, emotional pain, and horror that comes from the combination of a strong stimulant soaring through blood which is thinned out by the physical characteristics of alcohol. Alcohol is a depressant, to an extent, so when you combine the pulse-pumping effects of amphetamines with the depressant effects of whiskey or a shitload of beer... you're asking for a trainwreck like no other... Beyond that word of caution, I wouldn't worry about adderall really inhibitting your trip....
no no, I don't take that high a dose of adderall, only 20mg.. sometime next week i'm going to jersey, with a few partys, and i'm sure i'll drink, i know the amount of adderall i take is a small dose, so if i got wasted, would that small amount of adderall really affect me that greatly?
it really depends on when you take it and how long you go between taking the adderall and when you start drinking... a minimum 4 hours between times is pretty safe as i have come to understand it... ie. take one 10mg tab when you wake up, and one around 2pm... then 6pm should be the earliest you start drinking. that's pretty much how i play it and it's worked well for me so far.
I drink whenever I can, and I have been on Adderall, for nearly 10 years. I am also a pharmacy student. I don't know what the problem is. I have swallowed my Adderall with a Gin & Tonic or Captain & Coke, many times. . .
Ah.... see there's the difference.... I usually drink straight whiskey or rum either straight from the bottle or in a tall glass. Adderall tends to give me more determination to drink, and to drink more than I should... which I then pay for throughout the course of the next day most of the time. I've never been into mixed drinks... even with ice or tonic... I've had a few here and there, but I like my liquor straight... I've just noticed that adderall, alcohol, and me end up making one helluva weird night and a terrible hangover the next morning... speaking of adderall... that damn doctor better have called my pharmacy by tomorrow... I've been forgetting to get that shit filled for a week or so it seems... kinda funny how medication can create it's own Catch-22 like that when you run out...
