With all of the depressing news coming out of the UK, I thought I'd post this rather funny story to hopefully lighten the mood.

Bush crashes his bike into Scottish police officer

U.S. President George W. Bush crashed his mountain bike into an unfortunate police officer in Scotland.

Mr. Bush, who celebrated his 59th birthday last night was cycling on a bike around the Gleneagles Hotel, where he is staying for the 31st G8 summit, when he, perhaps partially due to the bad weather, crashed into one of the police officers responsible for his and the other leaders safety.

The officer had to be taken to hospital having suffered a twisted ankle whilst Mr. Bush, who was wearing a helmet, only suffered minor bruises despite landing on asphalt. The president had to return to the hotel by van because the bike was too badly damaged.

Bush has been involved in two similar accidents during his presidency. In 2003, he fell off a Segway personal transporter, and in 2004, he fell off a mountain bike.

Don't forget the pretzel incident. (Or, rather, falling on his face in a drunken stupor but not having a good enough excuse to explain the massive bruise on his face.)

 

Why doesn't Bush just use the subway.

I don't see anything funny about this because i fell off my bike last week

 

must have been a crappy ass bike for it to be so damaged that he couldn't ride it back to the hotel.

 

He was probably fucking drunk or something. The damage part seemed a bit unplausible to me too.

 

I ran into someone on a bike before, it didn't really damage the bike, it just damaged me and them...I don't see how he managed to fuck up the bike so badly that he couldn't ride it home, that just seems really...odd.

 

Now that it has been mentioned, it does seem rather odd that the bike would end up in such shape after merely hitting some fleshy human. ()

 

one would surely have to be drunk, stupid or something like that to ride a bike into a stationary guard. what a dumbass!

 

I haven't seen this much damage since I attended the Gerald Ford School of Driving.

it's hard to imagine a plastic big wheels bicycle doing that much damage.
