Check out www.wwoof.ca I want to try this out really bad. There are organic farms all over Canada who participate in it, although it's volunteer, but they provide room and board. I met a girl the other night who's doing this on Salt Spring Island in BC. I'm so jealous.

This is a great site, and the folks that come to work on the farms are so interesting, they come from all over the world...I was working on a farm in BC and met some folks that were WWOOFing and they loved it!

Not really farm work, but federal and provincial park work - Here

I had gotten a job working at a local historic site through that program, one of the best experiences of my life and government pay is a plus.

Pelee Island....try there. They had a few vineyard/winery type places that housed migrant workers, and I dont think it was just volunteer either. Beautiful place!!
