[ : I did a quick search to check if this topic had been started before, but the search engine doesn't seem to be working for me. : ] I thought people might find it useful if a list of music resources were compiled. Here are some I know of. Feel free to add your own - maybe mentioning which genre(s) of music it caters for. If people want, I can add them to this first post in the thread (...it might make the list easier to browse?) * * * * * Various: Xiph.org - a directory of different streaming web-locations (i.e. online radios); excellent resource ArtistServer - this started (as far as I know) as a website mainly for electronic music (electronicscene.com), but it recently started making available music in different categories - from classical to folk-rock. Most of the music on it is still electronic though - give it time maybe. SoundClick - one of the most popular music sites on the net (..no need to say any more I think) Epitonic.com - I haven't used listened to music from this site much, but it seems to be well-organized Ampcast.com - I've barely ever used this either, but it seems ok Classical: (...I'm stuck in a bit of a time warp, you see - sorry! ) Classical Archives - a very valuable resource. You can listen to the lo-fidelity versions of a lot of compositions for free; full access is only twenty dollars per year, and allows you access to either 100 tracks per day or 1000 per month. Hyperion Records - The Listening Room - a lot of compositions available for free listening (..in their entirety) I'll add more if/when I think of any. Feel free to add your own!
here's my three sites Psychedelic Albums - Reviews, reader polls and ratings of Psychedelic Rock, Psychedelic Folk and Krautrock albums Psychedelic Albums Forums - Friendly discussion forums for chit chat of psychedelic music of any variety, gig and album release news. Barl Fire Recordings - Our recently established CDR micro-label, associated with the Psychedelic Albums website, that is devoted to releasing and reissuing limited runs of albums by artists operating within the general areas of experimental acoustic music, free-folk, field recordings, drone and improv. Although the scope of releases on Barl Fire remains open ended, the emphasis is on new psychedelia. cheers HD
