I know very little about this subject, but can any of you tell things about people over the internet, from their writing or anything?
I've had some very very strange experiences with someone over the internet. Not sure what caused it,but it was unbelievable. It was literally like we were reading each other's minds. I could describe things about him in detail,that I shouldn't have known. It was just like I knew him,inside and out.
No you don't.. you just think you do. I think so, i have had a few experiances like Wonder Girl has had, it is quite a strange feeling, the realisation you and your feelings are not so unique that nobody else does not understand what you are and maybe who you are.
i see. my hubby has an idea, about what he calles the collective unconscious, its kind of like, because the brain is a quantum computer (i dont understand that too well, just generally) it can tune into things that are far away. and that everyone is linked by this, people, places, emotions, its something every mind shares. do you think this could be another way of describing psycic abilities.

How does some one know if others have psychic abilities? can't it be just a guess or obvious information like matthew here: Hmm why do I *sense* something with an B with you? can it be Britain!?! but how can that be... London seems so distant and far away, you are no way in canada! hmm... I think you don't agree about something with some one with an M in their name too and no thats not matthew.
and for enigma rising, why do I feel like 21 is not your really your age.. hmmm I sense a disturbance in your life.. .i feel that you are going to be missing your favorite thing , i don't know ... does the letter K ring a bell.
There could be guessing or obvious information,with some people. That's true...but sometimes,there's something very real about the connection you can have with someone. I'm not sure if it's something psychic or not...I'm not even sure what it all means. I'm really fascinated with this subject,though. I wonder if it can be controlled. Can you open your mind to other people and try to make a mental connection with them...or does it just happen naturally,with certain people? Does that mean there's something special about that connection,if you have it with another person? It's just really fascinating... And Jedi,I know you were joking about Matthew,but what about Enigma,do you really sense those things about her or was that guessing??
Hey Jedi if that comment to enigma rising was directed towards me that would have been crazy. Because i was just half reading this thread, and your message to enigma totally stood out to me, and as i read it, it was infinately true. My gf, whose name is Katie, is in Kazakhstan/Turkey right now on vacation and i miss her so much....
To wondergirl and It bootyism: haha actually, I just said the first thing that came to my mind when I was talking about enigma rising, and it is some how true to some one and not true to some one else. Now , i am not saying that one cannot have psychic powers but I am saying that most of these "psychic" readings that come true are just ways that our beautiful minds structure random information into something that makes a little sense. If some guy claiming to be a psychic asks me : "Does L ring a bell"... I might think for a minute and my brain would make a connection to all the things that are related to L in my life and maybe make sense out of that piece of information. Like "oh yea, I love Lexus- the car and I am thinking of getting one in the future". And then the guy continues the discussion by saying yes... you will get it, but due to your karma , you would have to work hard for it. Do alot of good deeds or wear this pendant... $1.99. And I would go ahead and wear the pendant... the good thing is now my brain then feels the power that is with in the pendant , although most of it is imaginary... it leaves an impression of confidence in oneself. So, in this case, the pendant is actually finding real true potential of the being himself. So are we truly psychic?
Oh yes bootyism, you have some sort of a project to attend to... project or program or are you involved in programs? but that doesn't make sense, because I don't see the party spirit in you, but beware of the threes in courses... they might whip you up a bit.
I was thinking this *spooky*, especialy the part about 'psychic', i don't know how that got into this . I just took the original post as meaning like when you 'click' with someone .. I don't think it can be controlled because serendipity is too much involved. Oh Jedi my second name begins with B. I think 'psychic' comes from the ability to understand human behaviour an characters, plus generaly most people act in a predictable way...see some smart arse knew i was gong to say all the things i have just said .
I think you're right,about some "psychics". If someone wants to believe something badly enough,then they will believe it. You could say most anything,and I could somehow link it to something in my life if I look hard enough. But I also believe that some people could have true gifts...some could have psychic abilities or they receive visions of some sort. There are so many possibilities... Do you feel like you have some abilities? What you said to one person here,made sense to another person reading it. Maybe your wires just got crossed
What I was talking about,probably shouldn't be called psychic. More like a mental connection between two people...or ESP? Then again,maybe it is just clicking with someone..or having chemistry with them. For a long time,I thought it couldn't be controlled and that it was fate. But then things changed,and now I question it.
carl jung hypothesized the collective unconcious, it works, some people are better at finding the roads than others but it works, mostly because of genetic memory, salmon and monarch butterflies and all sorts of other animals know things they really shouldn't know, that happened before they were born (migratory routes etc.) and do things exactly as their parents had, genetic memory is a powerful force and since if you go back enough generations we are all related you will find that all humans have some of the same genetic memories, I wouldn't doubt if some of them resonate in some way and form a bridge..... and my head hurts so I'm gonna stop now....

So you want to know what made me start to question things? I felt sure of the connection I felt with this person. I thought it was unique and rare. It felt like it was on a different mental level than most people share..not only because of the chemistry,but because of little coincidences that would happen..things that bordered on freaky. Okay,so,I believed it was something special and since I had never felt it with anyone else,I thought it was something unique to him and I. But,things changed. I don't know why exactly...but something's changed. Oddly enough,it almost feels like the change is all part of the plot. So,I don't question the connection...I know it was real,I know people can connect and have chemistry and I know that out of this world things can happen. What I question though,is if it was unique to him and I...was it something that happened for a reason. Or was it that him and I just happened to experience it together. I just want to say though(because I almost feel bad for talking about it,I feel like I am being negative about him)...I care about him very much,and I believe that he cares for me very much..and I'm still his friend always. I'll still go to England this year I hope,and if I don't meet him,then it just wasn't meant to be. That's just life,perhaps...people come and people go,and you can never truly tell why you've met them. Maybe I met him,so he could teach me a few things and he has taught me a few things. Maybe this is the end of the road,and he's leaving me in this spot,because it's where I'm meant to be. And maybe someday I'll look back and realize what it all meant. That's the gist of it,why I believe in connections and also why I question it. I condensed it down,because I could really write volumes on this subject. I could analyze it to death.
That's very interesting. When you start to analyze stuff like this,there are so many variables..it just gets confusing and hard to pin down to fact. I like what you said though,about some people being better at finding the roads. That's a good point. It could be,that when you are more "open" to things,you will experience things that other's don't experience. I'll have to look up Carl Jung...sounds good...
