p.s. you forgot the melvins! the melvins were probably kurt's biggest influence. and leadbelly, and mudhoney, the vaselines, i can go on and on, but i won't.
Well, first of all, I'm not always high... and I have enough sense to realize what I do even if I am. But aside from that, I'm not really sure how it relates... Though, I was only joking anyway. In my opinion, eh, their lyrics could be good and they could be bad just like any other band, but in general, yeah, it was the whole originality thing that really drove them. As far as scales and solos, I don't really know any, myself... As Bach once said, I just hit whatever notes sound right and the instrument basically plays itself...
Kurt cobain was a wonderful guitarist, but do not say anything bad about jimi or eric clapton. kurt cobain did heroin, dropped acid, did cocaine, and smoked pot, so dont say anything like 'just because he wasnt doing drugs and so on. kurt cobain listened to classic rock, and classical music. Not just the pixies and R.E.M.
For some reason, I always have to laugh every time you post something, serious or not... I'm not sure why, though. I still can't believe what you said about Warren Haynes that time.
well, of course i could be wrong, but according to the band members themselves, krist wrote most all of the bass lines, and i saw a video of them doing a cover of the song "seasons in the sun", it had krist on guitar, dave on bass, and kurt on drums. and let me tell you, kurt was a terrible drummer. there's no way he wrote the drum parts.
and i never said anything bad about hendrix or clapton, (although i think clapton is incredibly overrated..) i never said kurt didn't take acid, although im sure he took less than people like to think. and i really dont know anything about warren haynes, i was just reacting to something that was said about iron and wine.. i dont mean to be a jerk, and i wouldnt care, except nirvana are one of my favourite bands of all time and i feel i must defend them. because this generation just doesn't understand them.
well you obviously haven't seen seasons in the sun then.. plus i dont really remember outsensticide saying kurt played all the instruments.... whatever.
well, that doesnt exactly make him a great drummer, does it? and i guess he wasnt even that bad, the original point i wanted to make was he didnt write everyone's part, as someone had said. i really didnt want this to turn into a contest about who knows more about nirvana...
yes, i like nirvana, and i bet you a 100 kagillion dollars that if kurt cobain would have known me he would have loved me too. and i like the song pennyroyaly tea
Haha, I fucking love the mule. I'm going to see ABB Friday night. I was supposed to go see Lynyrd Skynyrd on 7/9 but couldn't get a ride. Didn't want to risk getting pulled over for driving without a license on teh Harley. I saw Gov't Mule on 6/9... twas great. I love it when they go into Folsom Prison Blues. I wish dTb would tour with Eric Johnson Band again, but, either way, I'm going to see Eric in August and hopefully be catching Widespread Panic two nights in a row... They freaking cancelled Zooma... ugh. Pisses me off. http://www.ebene.hyspex.com/orsino/Derek%20Trucks%20Band%20-%20Young%20Funk.mp3 http://www.ebene.hyspex.com/orsino/05%20Slackjaw%20Jezebel.wma http://www.ebene.hyspex.com/orsino/gov't%20mule%20-%2030%20days%20in%20the%20hole.mp3
Shut it... you have nirvana, I have lynyrd skynrd... erm... blackfoot, nazareth, allmans, zz top, SRV, blind boys of alabama, jimmie vaughan, etc. Yeah.. sorry. I didn't know it was illegal to like Southern Rock stuff... Sweet home teh alabamy.
I still haven't gotten my tickets to see ABB but that show is with moe. I fucking love allman brothers band. If only Duane had waited a minute before he left the big house in Macon because of that birthday party. They're turning the house into a museum for the ABB now.
eh, there's nothing wrong with southern rock, i love zz top, but i dunno... skynyrd? aren't they like republicans? or something? anyway they suck...
