i dont get it....dont soldiers join the army believing theyre serving a good cause and theyre going to protect "freedom"...then when they go into battle theyre just "serving orders"

The original text of the 10 Commandments read "Thou Shalt Not Commit Murder". Even in biblical times, it was recognized that wars happen and that killing in the defense of ones own home/land/family was occasionally necessary. Changing the word Murder to the word Kill is a very recent, and politically correct event.

How many of you would take a life to protect a loved one? Or sacrifice your own life to save the life of a loved one? By some of your logic both of these actions could be considered mortal sins (murder and suicide) even though the latter mirrors the personal sacrifice of Christ.

Bottom line: It has nothing to do with following orders. It's about taking lives and taking real estate in support of what George W. Bush believes God told him to do, thereby legitimizing mayhem and death in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

 

thing is, whatever conception of God you might have you have to admit He's already blessed america.

Our standard of living (on the material level anyway), our relative geographic invunerability, our level of healthcare, access to education, economic prosperity and oppurtunity--you name it.

Trouble is instead of looking at we've got in comparison to most of the world and being grateful we've come to see it as our birthright and copped this attitude like we're better than everybody else, and anything we do is justified just because we did it.

"Pride goeth before a fall". If that's true better grab a parachute.

Somebody once said "if God doesn't put His foot down on america He'll have to apologise a thousand times to Sodom and Gommora".

why can religious people recite that in church or when debating abortion or the right to be vegetarian to save animals, but when it comes to war...they are all for it.

murder==taking the life of another living creature..and that includes war

 

but theyre saying the original texts (if there ever were such things) read 'murder' , not 'kill'
besides murder implies killing unlawfuly
