My husband and I want to take our kids camping, but he says it will be to hard with our 2 1/2 month old baby. We have 4 other kids and I feel like they are missing out. Is there any suggestions that you guys have about taking babies camping? Is my husband right, am I the only one that thinks taking the baby camping is OK? I want my kids to spend time getting in touch with nature and I feel like, the sooner the better.
...let me know what you all think...thanks

I think that taking your baby camping at 2.5 months old is a wonderful idea! In fact, it will probably be much easier than if you were to wait until your baby was a year old or so and mobile. ;) I bet your baby would love it.

It sounds like a good idea to me,make sure to take a few pics, that way when the baby's older,it can see it's first camping trip :)

just came back from camping in northern vt. my brother brought his 11month old and everything was fine.. except after 6 days the baby had a temp of 103. dr. said it was from the water we mixed to make the bottle

if you're breastfeeding, it'll be alright... if not make sure to stock up on bottled water!

If you keep things as clean as you can and use bottled water for the babe, there should be no problem. Make sure the little one doesn't get too much sun too. I would probably use pampers, but you could do it with real diapers too.

Have fun and send us pictures.

I know couples that go backpacking with their babies. They have all made it out of the woods allright, so I am sure you guys would be fine. Regular old camping shouldn't be any harder than taking care of the baby at home. And definitely easier than taking a toddler out to the woods!

You never know until you try! I think that now would be a good time since baby is probably eating and sleeping, and that's about it. I think you guys would have a blast! Definitly bring bottled water though.

Can you think of a reason why you wouldn't want to take her? What exactly is it that he's worried might happen? What's the worst that could happen?

I think were gonna do it. And actually we have a toddler too...maybe you guys are right. She is the one I should be more concerned with. I think all the kids will have a blast.

So Miss Lena...where ya want to head to? :)
