OKay, so I had to post this because i feel they arent getting enough attention on here! Hehe. Anyway, what do you think about them? I really really love their song electric funeral and war pigs and paranoid and iron man. They were SO great!! I wish i could give ozzy a nice big hug
My favourite Sabbath songs would probably be.. Black Sabbath Fairies Wear Boots After Forever Into The Void Supernaut Snowblind Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Sabra Cadabra Killing Yourself To Live A National Acrobat Hole In The Sky Symptom Of The Universe You Won't Change Me All Moving Parts (Stand Still) Don't people listen to Sabbath past Paranoid these days? It's all I see talked about when on the Sabbath topic... Personally I think their best stuff is in the Master Of Reality to Sabotage period...
I only own their first album, and I love it! I plan to get their second album soon, and maybe more later, I don't know. Anyways, I always thought they sounded pretty influenced by Cream (on the first album at least, but it's the only one I heard!)
I can't say I am a fan of their work. Even their early albums have gotten old. They were good at what they did, but I can't say I hold the praise for them that many people do. I find their music gets boring very quickly, because it's all pretty much the same thing, with some slight variations from song to song.
They are the Best.... Too bad Bill ward dont want to play anymore... At least I seen them a few times...... Rock on
Did anyone like the stuff they did after ozzy left? I liked the ronnie james dio stuff but I dont know about the other stuff.
I adore Black Sabbath. My favourite album is 'Volume 4' although my favourite over all song is 'Megalomania' from the Sabotage album.
I'm not a huge fan of the post-Ozzy years... To me, Sabbath is all about that sound... They didn't sound quite the same after Ozzy.. It all seemed to speed up a lil and get a more 'classic rock' edge, rather than that gloomy, plodding, riff-laden Sabbath that we all know and love..
I'm not a big fan of Dio, Rainbow etc., but I really enjoyed Heaven and Hell. Granted, maybe they should have used a different name because it sounds nothing like Black Sabbath; same members, different band. I think this recording showed that they were at least capable of being diverse. The Mob Rules was just more of the same but weaker. It wasn't bad, but the songs weren't near as good. I never really followed them after these albums although I heard the one with Ian Gillan..../me yawns.
Iommi is a god for two simple reasons. They are prostetic fingertips. Fuck yeah man. Gets his fingers lopped off but doesnt quit. "Bloody hell I'll just tune it down a bit, make it a little more wobbly." And thus, Metal was born! EDIT: And that is how it happened and dont you forget it!
I love Black Sabbath, really dig their stuff. Especially the first 5, 6 albums made Black Sabbath one of my favourite bands of all time! I love Heaven & Hell very much as well, but i like Ronnie James Dio's music very much as well, on the first Rainbow albums and his Holy Diver album. Some of my favourite Black Sabbath songs: Into the void Electric funeral Solitude Sweet leaf Hand of doom Killing yourself to live Fairies wear boots A bit of finger - sleeping village - warning Wicked world The wizard Snowblind Planet caravan Children of the grave (i really like the lyrics on Master of reality) Ah, i stop, it's too much
