So when did you all discover that you were , "hippies",or found out you wanted to share the same ideas and such.

I think I've slowly built up to it through my life. But I'd say it all started back in 3rd grade when I arranged trash pickup groups during recess, and I handed out flyers to people in school. We had something good going there and we really cleaned up the schools wooded areas. Then I've just gradually increased my desire for peace and love,as I got smarter and realized how dumb anger and hate were.

    so how about you??

Don't wanna pop your bubble man, but do a search over this topic and you'll find out that it's been posted MANY times before.
Many of the usuals here get tired of the repeat posts...(I don't, I mean hey, it's my choice to open the thread)

-Probably when this girl came up to me and was like... "omgzlike hiipiez are way cool and i want to be one lyke.. sooo incredibly bad so you should follow this fad and be a hiipiie too because otherwise your not going to be cool."-

No offense to the real hippies out there (this is the older folks I'm talking about), It's just nowadays, being a "hippie" seems like something kids are doing to be cool.

If you share the same ideas as the original hippies, good for you, but do not call yourself one, it just gets annoying. Just like "straight-edge" kids and "scene" kids and "preppy" kids, and all the other labels that stupid people give each other.

There were those types back in the 60's and 70's...straight edge kids who decided to rebel against their parents, or as a clique decided that the counterculture was "cool".....they only donned the clothing and learned a few "buzzwords", they didn't have the heart and soul.

I grew up in the counterculture, so there wasn't any real learning that I was a hippy, I just always was.......

I have met a few young people who truly have the soul of " a hippie" (I hate to use that as a label)

I was walking through Pease Park and met this guy who offered me a homemade hemp bag, the thing was pretty cool looking so I got it for my sister.

Anyway as I was walking home the bag split and I noticed the tag on the inside said it was made in Guatemala.

I wen't back to the hippie for my money back, and he was all like 'sorry dude, no refunds.'

It was pretty clear by that point we had to kung fu fight. His Kung Fu was good, but he couldn't keep up with lotus style.

So to make a long story short, I ripped the hippies heart out and ate it.

Now I wanna listen to The Dead all the time.

A little bit like an old bong, but I could still feel it coarsing with his real ultimate hippie power that I had to acquire.

All and all, needed a little red pepper. [IMG]
