Greetings & salutations! I am a small-town journalist whose dream has always been to make it as a novelist (several written, none published to date). I recently went back to school & got my MA in history. I may go ahead in a couple of years & start on my Ph.D. in history. My other dream is to teach history at the college level. I'm a Christian, although I haven't been very active the past few years. I enjoy trivia, reading, watching & collecting movies and going barefoot. I have written more than 80 movie reiviews on IMDb and have several "listmania" lists on amazon.com (favorite movies & classic TV shows). I have been a member of the Society For Barefoot Living (formerly the Dirty Sole Society) since the beginning of my Internet life in 1998. I have always been a sports fan, although much of what has gone on in professional sports during the past several years has left me cold. I don't watch as much sports on TV as I used to. Landing in the middle of Oklahoma (after living in southeastern Missouri since age 3), I've become an OU Sooner fan. (I think it's in the water!) I am in four "retro" baseball leagues, based on the computer version of the APBA baseball game. We draft players in a certain year, then keep the players (other than trades) each progressive season. (This is the definition of a "retro" league.) The secret to building a great franchise in these leagues is having to actual life of one's own! I am currently working on a novel about an abandoned & haunted bridge. I am single, but during the past several months have adopted two cats to give me some much needed inconvienence and irritation (as well as occasional doses of love). Among my journalistic highlights has been interviewing & photographing oen of the surviving Munchkins from The Wizard of Oz (and getting to see him dance a few steps of "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" with a youngster). I also got to interview former star pitcher and pitching coach Johnny Sain. I look forward to taking part in these forums!
Welcome to the forums.. Hope you enjoy it.. I'm glad to see you adopted two cats to give a good home.. I adopted one about a year ago myself..
