just to quickly slide this one in and get back to moonshyne's point: in england we pay a license fee yearly. we pay this to a government run agency, and it goes directly to funding the bbc. this is why there are no adverts on the bbc.

also, bias is rife in the bbc, populated and run by lords from the government itself, until they make a huge gaff in public and get replaced by a clone.

the bbc has been found on numerous occasions to have covered up for the royal family, for tony blair and for representatives abroad. there have been lots of problems recently with the bbc revealing name of Dr. David Kelly, leading to the recent sacking of bbc director general greg dyke and chairman gavin davies, due to not keeping a tight enough rein on such activites (letting them go public).

Reporter andrew gilligan lost his job for stating that the government had 'sexed up' widely discredited intelligence dossiers pertaining to the viability of our going to war.

these are all actions of a company committed to keeping it's governmental friendship intact at all costs. the bbc gets to play scapegoat when the heat gets too high for government to juggle the potato, but as no one votes for the bbc it's alright.

the fact that i have to pay £110 a year just for buying a tv is a disgrace. internationally that would be known as a monopoly, as the bbc purports not to be a government company. but these fees go to a government company, who then refer them on to the bbc.

    loopholes. gotta love em.

i want to buy a tv without the bbc and not have to pay the license fee, but it would have to have all tunining aparatus disabled for me to be able to do that, and that means that i can't get the 'honestly paid for' (harumph) itv and channel 4 and 5.

    once again, monopoly.

back to moonshyne's point, the only thing we can do is hit american governmental force where it hurts, right in the peacefulness. ignore the fear lead propaganda, ignore the panic tactics and commercialism. sooner or later the championed bullies of the world will find out that no one really likes them anymore and learn how to play nice with it's children, the american people.

protest always helps, as does any activity that discredits the government, but rash bombings, gimmicks and even graffiti do nothing, infact give a negative outlook on the plight of the people. information is key, but in this internet ruled period of our existence, the amount of information is washing over our heads and pulling us under the crest of the wave. how do we surf the tide, is the question i ask? :)
