seems to me like you people judge others by image, its hardly becoming of you hippies.

just because he liked to wear women's blouses and tight purple pants, doesnt make him a bad artist by any means, and doesnt make his music any worse.

like I said before, he is very underrated. thanx to the image of mtv and music video, you people think he is a pansy fruit that dances around on stage like "boy george". the dude is very talented and can play more than one instrument fluently (which is more than hendrix can say)

 

1. To compare Jimi to anyone is just an exercise in futility. There is no comparison.
2. Prince can play fifty instruments? Name 'em, OK?
3. Jimi didn't play just guitar. Oh yeah, that's what he's known for, but he played bass, drums, and piano.
4. Prince is still alive. Well, yeah. So? Jimi's been dead more years than he was alive. In his short time with us he helped define a new kind of music. He set the music world on its head with his style of playing and the new ideas he brought to the guitar. He broke ground that is still being explored today. And he didn't have loops, synthesizers, ProTools, or any of the modern "conveniences" of today. He did it with his Fender, his Marshalls, his very simple effects, and his mind.

Now, I'm not taking anything away from The Artist. He is damn good. But I'm guessing he'd tell ya not to even try to compare him and Jimi.
