I am curious what towns people have visited and stayed in where hippies have basically taken over? Two I can think of are Brattleboro, Vermont; a real happy place with beautiful cobblestone streets and lots of culture, and Hallowell Maine; a hidden gem that is so surprising. You have probably never heard of it, but when you go there you can't help but wonder why you haven't. The latter reminds me of one of those episodes of the X-files where they investigate a town with a strange secret. http://www.hallowell.org/ There are other places; I lived in Northampton MA and nearby Amherst for a while, but after ten years a bunch of chain stores and this nervous city energy seeped into the area and spoiled it for me. Nearby Greenfield and Easthampton, on the other hand, have gotten crunchier and more culturally interesting over the years. Does anybody know of any other places that are relatively unspoilt. (I get the idea from the location of many people on hipforums that that The Pacific Northwest could have it's own thread on this topic, lol!) (Edit: I forgot Montague MA and the surrounding Area. May Day there is a blast
Let's invade then! Wouldn't it be funny if we gould get Hipforums members to invade a town and take it over? Whauhahahahaha
Really! You don't say! I wonder where that would be??? Could never happen here.*LOL* Is there a good coffee house there?
st. john, usvi. the island is only 8 miles long and 2/3 is owned by the national park so people don't live on that part. its about half locals and half people who moved there from the states (the hippies). and all of the kids, though most aren't technically condered hippies, are all stoners. party on!
you kno if something like that has haooened before i think that they took over a small town called lacey in nj that place is full of hippies (and im proud to say i kno most of them) winter fang
uhhhhh Boulder got taken over by yuppies. Passed a law that one cannot drum outside at night. MAybe old town Manitou Springs, though.
cobcottage..man.. ...you look like johhny depp. Ireland has nowhere of hippie-culture,but there's shiteloads of..irish culture. The west is the best. And there's some nice places around here too.. if ye know where to look.
