I pulled a premature organge p[etal out of its growing-sheath, and licked it a few times. I started feeling a little dizzy, out of it, as if i suddenly (it was a while after smoking last) was becoming mroe stoned. I went and licked it again, it was not very flavoursome, but a subtle pleasant sweetish taste. I got pretty spaced out. I felt.. dissassociated. Its probably just a stone induced placebo? though rather odd... i should try it again and see if it happens. does anyone know of any reference to bird of paradise? i hope this doesnt sound like a stupid question...
interesting; i've never heard of any psychadelic properties with bird of paradise's. they're certainly abundant enough in australia though! hmm! have you tried searching erowid?

i think it was just placebo.. as youd expect. but i made this thread in the initial hope before testing to see if there was anything known, this place seems a little inactive unfortunately. oh and i knew they were premature because.. well.. they hadnt matured yet? lol. they were still in their protective sheath, i pulled the petals (sturdy things, a sturdy plant) and sorta like a baby is in fluid, so are the petals, and its a rather pleasant but very feint nectar. i might simply look into collecting it so see how it tastes, it wasnt bad, but it was too little amount to tell if it would be tasty in higher amounts. hehe thatd be cool, bird of paradise nectar
