Im vegetarian, on vacation was eating dinner with a sauce that I later found had bacon in it. I was pissed and couldn't stop thinking about it which later made me feel sick. Did something like this ever happen you?
I ordered a veggie burger from BK and they gave me a real one , after a couple bites I realized I was eating cow.....how long have you been veg? I come from a family of meateaters and converted about 4 years ago...
To answer your question Ive been veg for about a year and a half now. Did you do anything about them giving you a real burger? I'm sure you were pissed.
BK or hungry jacks as they are here, have a sign on their menu which states that there is no guruntee that there are no traces of meat in their veggie burgers... so I say, dont do it
yeah they're probably flipping the veggie burgers with the same spatula as they used to flip the hamburgers and probably cooking it on the same greasy meat covered surface, yuk!
as far as I know BK does cook it on the same grill... My brother worked there for a long time, things may have changed since then but who knows. I think they're gross anyway, they're chunky and they always taste burnt or charred, ICK. I never get those, tried them maybe twice when I was about 14 and hated them both times. Anyway, yes something like this has happened to Im sure just about every veggie on here, I was just complaining about the same thing the other day, only it turned out it wasnt an animal product because someone smarter than me told me so LOL Really though, if you browse through the forum, Im sure you will find about 50 topics on this same sort of thing. We all understand
last week my mother brought me some left over pizza (she knows I dont eat meat) and i assumed it was just plain cheese.....didn't realize that there was sausage underneath the cheese. i took a bite and then spit it back out and started to gag. it was totally a mental reflex as i didn't actually swallow any....but even the thought of eating meat is enough to make my stomach turn.
Went to local chinese takeaway, asked if springrolls were veggie, they said yes, I had two and realised there was ham in them. I was so angry! Haven't had a takeaway since, haven't had McD or BK for three years. Do not trust them!
Burger King's veggie burgers are disgusting anyhow. They never cook them right and they taste just...weird. Not good at all. When I first went veggie, when I was 16, my speech team went to eat at this local pizza buffet after a tournament, and I got this pizza that had barbeque sauce on it that I had eaten a lot before I went veggie. Well, I never realized before I went veggie that they had meat in the bbq sauce, but after I went veggie, it became a lot easier to detect those things. I took a bite and realized it, and spit it out. It's funny how easily meat can be hidden in food. But, the biggest thing about being veggie is the whole idea centered around it. As long as you do your best to avoid it, then you're doing okay.
(quote) yeah they're probably flipping the veggie burgers with the same spatula as they used to flip the hamburgers and probably cooking it on the same greasy meat covered surface, yuk! (end quote) That's pathetic. Why do veggies care about this sort of thing? No veggie I've ever know (or been!) in real life behaves in such a stupidly attention-seeking way... It must be something to do with the 'net...
^ No vegetarian I've ever know or just talked to on forums would want meat juices in there non-meat product. kinda takes the whole point out of becoming a vegetarian *rolls eyes*
last week we went out to dinner in a thai restaurant and my daughter orderd veggie springrolls and then there was meat in them my daugther went very upset and puged everything out the waitress was telling her it was chinese mushrooms in there yes offcourse...really no differense
