how bad does it hurt, i'm a huge wimp, but i've wanted one for so long i'm just terrified. on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 hurting the worst.

depends on where you get it. i have one on the back of my neck that was pretty painful...bout a 7. more fleshy areas (stomach, bum cheek) hurt less than tats on bony areas
I got one on my butt and that was nothing!!! ... I'm thinking about getting one on my foot but I was told its gonna hurt! but I'll probably go for it ...
People lied to me. They kept saying "Oh, it doesn't hurt!" They are liars. I have three and they all hurt like fuck. Yes, you get used to it, yes, they burn the whole car ride home and yes, you'll want more once you get one. But, yes. They hurt, especially if you get them on the bone. My mother passed out when she had her ankle tattooed. My best friend has a clover leaf on her foot and she had to take ten minute breaks from the inking because it hurt so much. For your first one, I'd recomend somewhere fleshy and far from a bone. Or forearm, that hurt the least for me.

lol lol i agree it hurts mine is on the small of my back right at the top of my buttcrack (sorry for such a vulgar word but couldn't think of a better one) and it did hurt in the beginning but soon became numb. but there uisn't anything there except for bone no fatty tissue.
I have a small tat on both feet! I think they're supercute! The one on my right foot is on the top of my foot near my ankle, and to tell you the truth, it didn't hurt that much at all! My toe ring is on my left foot as pictured in my sig below. That one hurt worse b/c the toe is a more tender area, but it's so tiny that it couldn't have taken longer than 3 minutes to complete! So post a pic if you get that done
some of mine were 3, some were 9 getting my big toe sewn back shut after cutting it to the bone was about an 8. The one on my forearm was bad, especially for the next week as it swelled up and throbbed. Its a big tattoo though. They were all worth it.
they hurt but there are more painful things I have one on the back of my neck...it was pretty small...um I'd say...a 4 painwise

I'm a wuss too...I've wanted one for eons. Of course its gonna hurt, just depends on yer tolerance to pain and how much you want it to be worth it. The pain/desire ratio has kept me uninked for alla these years. I still may one day yet.
thanks to all you, you just pretty much changed my mind about getting a tattoo i was going to get one for my birthday (august) but i dont know now haha.
well, i think the first tattoo u get probably wil hurt the most. but even my first one didnt hut THAT bad, its bearable. i got my first one on my foot and part of my ankle bone. it hurts a lil more on the bone. but i think u used to get it...because my 2nd one i got it on my wrist, and it didnt even hurt at all. and im a big wimp when it comes to pain. haha i was ripping off dried glue off my leg and it HURT! haha probably more than my tattoo. haha. im a loser. but uh, i usualy have a couple shots or drinks(not too much because it thins out yer blood, thus makin u bleed more) and smoke some weed and take sum valium. haha. but even if u dont do any of that, u got nothing to worry bout! the tatto pain is addicting!
