ok, so while I was in VT ove rthe weekend, I went to my fav yarn sho and low and behold she had HEMP YARN!! 100% for a very good price and nice colors, and she offered to order more colors for me. It is made in china (grown) but produced in Canada. It is soft and supple, so this way I don't have to worry about softening the hemp from the twine balls! I am really looking forward to working with this and also to make a softer necklce with it as well to see how it will hold being it is much more supple then twine! Oh and it is 100% hemp, not the expensive hemp cotton or hemp wool blends....I saw those but really wanted 100% hemp and the yarn shop I got to is in Jamaica, VT and her site is www.margiesmuse.com
Neat! I'm interested in buying some also I checked out her website but I didn't see any yarn for sale. Jamacia VT is about 3 hours from me (a bit to far to drive for hemp yarn hehe) but she had some Beautiful blankets for sale! I'm gonna have to find somewhere closer to buy hemp yarn I guess. I found an online store lastweek that sells it but I can't remember the name of the site, but I don't think it was to expensive so thats good (running low on funds! lol) Anyway have fun making your necklaces, I'd love to see the pics if you end up posting them when they are done
