I always borrow Psychology Today from the library, and I read this bit on ethical problems..... basically the hypothetical situation is: You're in a war type situation, hiding from enemy soldiers with family/neighbours and your baby starts crying. Do you suffocate the baby to keep everyone else from being discovered? Or do you do nothing and allow everyone(baby included) to be found and killed by the soldiers? -I'd snuff the baby. Maybe because I'm not a parent, but it seemed like a no brainer to me. Unpleasant but necessary.

really? But then you would ALL die.... You would indirectly be responsible for it for NOT acting..... Yes you would always feel guilty...

yup.. always a hard one, stuff like that. I mean.. ofcourse killing the child seems the most sane option.. but by the time the kid has cried you might already be discovered anyway so.. but assuming you haven't been discovered yet, suffocating the kid seems to make sense. However, just putting a wet cloth or sth in it's mouth to give it sth to suck on to keep it quiet seems worth a try as well. But maybe it has a smelly poo diaper as well that could give you away.. babies are pure evil now I think of it!

    :p
