The countdown clock at KSC has begun ticking toward the first launch of the Space Shuttle since the Columbia breakup. If all goes well( particularly if hurricane Dennis cooperates), the shuttle Discovery takes off from pad 39B on Wednesday.
Launch has been scrubbed due to a faulty fuel level sensor. Next launch attempt Monday at the earliest......

Shades of Space Cowboys! I'm reading that the partners are getting antsy about the delays, pushing or attempting to push NASA into launching sooner than NASA wants. Were they off-planet during Challenger? If they want to push the launch date, let them put their asses in the seat. Maybe then they'll change their tune?
A beautiful liftoff! The shot of the ET separation from the onboard camera was spectacular! Was holding my breath from liftoff through MECO, though. I will never be able to hear the callout "go at throttle-up" without unpleasant memories from 1986....
the picture i saw here in NZ was a piece coming off the booster..why do they care about the booster? Perhaps it might have hit the shuttle when it flew off? Lets hope not... Godspeed...
