It sounds strange, but with the war going in the same direction as Vietnam did, I'm wondering if it will come back. I think it will. Once they end up drafting people, I think it will really start up again. Am I being too optimistic? I mean, it took years for it all to start up with vietnam, so why not take years for it to start up in this war?
-Ahem-... You may want to talk to the oldies on that one... I'ma go with no, its never going to happen. THE 60's ARE DEAD AND GONE AND ITS TIME TO MOVE ON! MAKE YOUR OWN REVOLUTION MODLED AFTER YOU NOT YOUTH OF THE FLOWER AGE! Look beyond the summer of love to the winter of hate. Change the now, stop trying to go back! Stop trying to recreate! Live the now!
they are allready doing a version of drafting. extending peoples service. once that doesnt work out, they will have to draft...
Once Again The United States Fucked Up, Where having people killed left and right, Thats not gonna Work , Where loosing Body Counts Everyday, I Hear towards the End Of July, but im not Sure
Hey I just had a thought: I've realised how the hippys of the 60's managed to do their thing. They didn't waste time on the net making stupid threads/comments. They just got the hell on what it. There you go, my thought of the day. TTFN Sage
You know, the rebelship isn't a thing to look forward to, I'd rather say that you're being pesimistic as you're looking forward to rebelship; rebelship means that people aren't happy, and that never was good... Not so true, at all, unfortunatelly... Seriouslly, most of the folks didn't 'change' coz of the peace, also they didn't change in a second... It was more like any other clique that exists now, but not many stereotypes were avaliable, imo. They wanted the peace, but it's just like the stereotypical reggae listener wants the weed to be legalised; just some idea of some 'group', therefore if people thought rebeling was cool (mainly coz many people started doing it; it was started by the real 'hippies') they joined the hippy group. Also, the drugs did a lot of effect, as people thought it was all groovy and stuff, therefore they really believed in peace and love in the end, but it was 'forced' in some passive way. The drugs and sex were all just form of rebelship, as well, imo. But yea, at the topic, I don't really think this is going to happen any time soon, as in the 60's not as many cliques as now were available (beatnik, hippie, and the like were the main ones). Most of the people know way more informations nowadays, too, and in the 60's, with the whole war on the TV - it did a bit of work coz people were new to seeing violence - today it's different as one can see the violence on the TV like every day. So, I say, no, it's not going to happen again, but I believe that the rebeling stereotypical groups will grow a bit (punks, hippies and the like). I think labelling is quite silly, really, but many people need it for some reason. Love, Borut
I think Dark Lunacy is startng to sound like a Young Republican with hardcore hippie paresnts that he resents. haha
Hold on- optimistic? You want there to be a draft just so that you can protest the draft? I'm sorry, I'm sure that I misread. As for the draft- I think that people are just being sensationalist when they say that they're going to bring it back. I know that they've already proposed a bill to reinstate the draft, but the baby boomers have gone through this. They wouldn't be so rash as to even consider that the baby boomers would want to go through that again, even if the reaction from the younger folks isn't as negative. Sorry, not going to happen. On the next conspiracy theory. So guys, moon landing- so good or no good?
they shot the whole thing in my basement... which is really scary... because i don't have a basement! if anyone wants to talk bout the 'proposed' draft, please dont make any new threads. a very long, violent one already exists. its turned into a bunch of mudslinging. anyway... freak out!
