That is a myth, my friend. dreads aren't really something you can just put in and forget about. I am a girl with reasonably straight hair, I didn't touch my dreads for 2 months (aside from the occasional wash..) and they were just greasy, strings of hair. hardly dreads. dreads DO need the occasional touch-up (moreso within the first 6 months).
I never put in my dreads or made them or had to touch them up. It is no myth, all i did was forget about it.My dreads just formed naturally and i had pretty straight hair.
Hot dang. Those are beautiful. Why the hell didn't mine form on their own? ahhhh well. they is fine now. how long have you had yours for?
That is not a myth at all. I am a caucasian with very straight, fine hair. All I do is wash my hair every day or two. Things seem to be working out okay for me.
Then why the crap did it take my dreads so long to "form". hell, mine are STILL forming. but you are right. it requires much, much patience .
