Hello all..... As much as I hate the way our country is run and who is currently running it. I have thought alot about ,and studied, the primary candidates for 2004's Presidential election. I feel that Dennis Kucinich is our best bet for delivering some of our long lost rights back to us. Also, he seems to want to clean up our wasted country and help out the rest of the world through a future US Presidency... I want to know what ya'll think and , as I am not of the age to vote yet, who has already chosen their fave candidate(s). Well, talk to you all l8er. His website is ...... http://www.kucinich.us yeah....check it out....really, if we must have a president, I believe he is the one who fits what we all should want. Peace, love, and freedom.
You nailed it. =) Now all we have to do is get people to stop letting the TV tell them who their choices are. BUSH vs KERRY 04' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its really sad.
Why would anyone vote for someone who is aligning themselves with the Democratic Party, when they stand absolutely no chance in winning? Like I have said before, none of the third-party candidates stand a chance in winning either, but at least if you vote Libertarian or Green, you're helping to get those parties noticed. I do have respect for Kucinich, I just wouldn't throw my vote away on him.
I had a lot of respect for Kucinich until he shamelessly abandoned his pro-life stance. Yet somehow he still claims to eschew all forms of violence . . .
Well, first off....Thanks Uncle Sam. LOL. Second, it does bite ass that people are soo focused on Kerry/Bush instead of digging deeper into the primaries and figuring out who REALLY should be in office, they may still come to the same conclusion, though. Third, I don't know how any person could be completely pro-life or completely pro-choice. Really. I am a woman, but that isn't why I have this next opinion. I believe that a woman should have the right to choose ONLY in certain circumstances....such as.... a rape. BUT, the only thing is, there is usually little or no proof of rape after 24 hours of that occurence. Most woman are too afraid to notify anyone of what happened for whatever reasons. Also, I believe woman should have the right to choose if their own life is in danger if they were to have the child. What would be the point of losing a mother's life for a child if they were to end up in some adoption agency that is already overflowing? What kind of life would that be? OR, a woman should have the right to choose if the infant was 80% or more than 80% likely to be miscarried. Again, what would the point be, if a woman was to suffer for 9 months only to have the child born dead? These are just my opinions....and once again, I believe Kucinich fits everything in my bill.
you keep repeating this rat, but your rationalization does not add up. supporting kucinich is a much more effective way of getting a common idea noticed, not a party. the platform of the entire party can change. history has proven this. hell, the republican party used to stand for something good...long ago. we are creatures of habit. if change is to come through peaceful shifts in government leadership (which i doubt but we must try) then a man like kucinich running on the democratic ticket is brilliant. he is on the inside, his party is already excepted and has some power in government. Third parties are a poor choice when a excellent candidate is right in front of you running a winable ticket.
I like Dennis, and I don't have any problem with him aligning himself with the Democratic Party. I just wish there were more Democrats like him. 7River, I do agree with you (Unfortunately, I didn't get absentee ballot to vote in the New Jersey primary. Stupid me). Political parties change, and I do hope the Democratic party can change for the better instead of trying to mirror the Republicans. Kucinich, to me, fits in better with the Green Party. Hopefully, other progressives can improve the Democratic party.
Democrats are far from mirroring republicans. Democrats favor high taxes to support social programs, which do more harm than good. Democrats favor Gun Control, which if you take guns away from citizzens criminals will be able to commit more robberies than ever before.
The problem is that society has been lulled into thinking its as simple as the black and white democrat vs repblican, spy vs spy paradigm. In reality, while Dennis is running as a democrat, his worldview is progressive. Rat, I know your smart enough to think outside the box dude. Does it make sense to you that the process is more complicated than just labeling people democrat and republican and assuming that all of their beliefs are the same????
Okay, real quick......if everyone thinks that its a waste to throw a vote to someone other than Kerry/Bush...than ofcourse they won't win! That's just a mind set that people have. If enough people voted for who they REALLY wanted than it wouldn't matter that Kerry/Bush are the ones that are being the most sponsored or advertised....Then, maybe the others WOULD have a chance. Ever think of THAT ONE?!??
In addition, we as people of this democracy NEED TO BE DEMANDING Instant Run Off Voting or IRV. The way this works is you put your first choice for president, then you put your second or third, etc. If your first choice doesn't get a majority of votes, then your vote goes towards the second choice. THIS WAY WE DONT HAVE TO BE STUCK IN THE MINDSET OF THROWING AWAY VOTES! This method works great for many countries around the world.
Here we are four years later. Kucinich has a message that resonates with the majority of america and FOX, NBC (GE), and ABC (Disney) who have all donated significantly to Hillary, Obama, and Edwards are excluding Dennis from allowing his voice to reach us in the debates. Kucinich is a real american and a real patriot. thats how i see it
IMO, the reason third parties have no real chance is that Republicans make up about half of the country, and for whatever reason, they're extremely disciplined (perhaps almost robotic) voters. They show up and vote. And they vote for the Republican candidates No Matter What. If the Republican candidate in 2008 turned out to be someone who favors legal abortion and legalized prostitution and has been divorced twice, don't think for a minute that the Republican fundamentalist Christian will fail to show up in huge numbers to vote for him. They'll show up, and they'll vote Republican No Matter What. Democrats tend to study the candidates and issues, and won't hesitate to jump ship if their candidate is less than 100% in agreement on every issue, thus always ensuring a weak party but generally better candidates for office. YMMV.
