Those two that you mentioned are easily in the top five. It's very easy to love those songs.

But I think you should get the album "Meddle," and listen to the wonderfully lonnnng song "Echoes"...

Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves in labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant tide
    Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine
And no one showed us to the land
And no one knows the wheres or whys
    But something stirs and
    Something tries
And starts to climb towards the light

    Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can
And no one calls us to the land
And no one crosses there alive
    And no one speaks
    And no one tries
And no one flies around the sun

    Cloudless every day you fall
    Upon my waking eyes
Inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
Comes streamin in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning
And no one sings me lullabies
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky.

The more sites you visit to check the lyrics of that song (some of which are hard to figure out by listening) the more you see some disparities. These reproduced above are the nearest to accurate that I can tell.

It's a really beautifully done song, with lonnng instrumental trance-like sections.

Wow! Some good answers here! I just looked back over them, and now I realize that there is a LOT of older Floyd that I need to check out, that I never have. I can't even say that I know what "Bike" or "Corporal Cleg" sound like, and the same goes for "Interstellar Overdrive," which by the way has an awesome name! :)

I have to agree that "Goodbye Blue Sky" is a great song. I love the kid's voice saying, "Look mummy -- there's an aeroplane up in the sky!"

"Did did did did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath the clear blue sky?"

Those fuckers were just lyrical GENIUSES!

For those of you who like the song Echoes, you need to watch it synchronized with 2001 Space Odyssey. Don't get me wrong, Echoes is a masterpiece in its own right but with this video it is beyond description.

i cant pick one song, as albums just run into each other, and ti think that they wrote for the overall album, not the overall song.

I love both dark side of the moon and wish you were here (album)
