What Does Islam Say about Terrorism? Islam, a religion of mercy, does not permit terrorism. In the Quraan, God has said: (1) 8: Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion nor drove you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equal. (Quraan, 60:8) (2) Chapter: 5. 32: …, if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or to spread mischief in the land- it would be as if he killed all mankind…. (3) The prophet Mohammad (PBUH) even warned that on the Day of Judgment, {the first cases to be adjudicated between people on the Day of Judgment will be those of bloodshed (This means killing and injuring.)} (4) The Prophet was asked, "Messenger of God, are we rewarded for kindness towards animals?" He said: {there is a reward for kindness to every living animal or human.} This saying of Muhammad has been mentioned in more detail on this page. (5) The prophet said (PBUH): the biggest of Al-Kabair (the greatest sins) are: (1) To join others as partners in worship with Allah, (2) to murder a human being, (3) to be undutiful to one's parents (4) and to make a false statement or said to give a false witness. In light of these and other Islamic texts, the act of inciting terror in the hearts of defenseless civilians, the wholesale destruction of buildings and properties, the bombing and maiming of innocent men, women, and children are all forbidden and detestable acts according to Islam and the Muslims. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the vast majority have nothing to do with the violent events some have associated with Muslims. If an individual Muslim were to commit an act of terrorism, this person would be guilty of violating the laws of Islam. First, thanks for posting this, it's good to see. I do wish these Muslims in the schools in the arab lands would read these more, but I guess there are pages that say the opposite of this as well. My main reason for posting is this, in reference to what I quoted above. What does that mean? Why is it a sin to "join others as partners in worship with Allah". Does that mean it's bad to pray with others, or did I miss something. Sorry if I'm talking off your topic a bit, but I'm curious.
happy hippy flower: You are more than welcome. But which link exactly at the bottom, in my thread or signature?Shaitan : I wish every Muslim who claims that he is doing his brutal acts in the name of Islam will read this thread pages??? What are their proofs? Shame on them. I ask (Allah) to protect UK and all other counties YoursSincerely,CatStevens
TrippinBTM : My pleasure. You are more than welcome. They study these things in the schools ,I saw their books. Muslims believe in one, unique, incomparable God, Who has no son nor partner, and that none has the right to be worshipped but Him alone. No one shares His divinity, nor His attributes. In the Quraan, God describes Himself:1:Say (O Muhammad): '' He is Allah, the One.2:Allah-us-Samad [Allah- the Self-sufficient master, whom all creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks)].3:He begets not, nor was He begotten.4:And there is none co-equal or comparable to Him.(Quraan, 112:1-4)No one has the right to be invoked, supplicated, prayed to, or shown any act of worship, but God alone.God alone the Creator. If someone wants something from God, he or she can ask God directly without asking anyone else to intercede with God for him or her.Prophet Muhammad PBUH was asked to preach the belief in the Oneness of Allah and warn people against polytheism. It is OK , No problem, my deepest pleasure YoursSincerely, CatStevens
Dearest Cat, Thank you for this post...I wish that it could be posted in every major US newspaper to eliminate the hate and discrimination that is caused by the hurt of these terrorist acts...many cannot understand that the terrorists are extremists and that Islam doesn't teach such cruelty...thank you again! Also, thank you for clearing up TrippinBTM's question...I wanted to know what that was saying as well. *Peace and Love* Nicole
SvgGrdnBeauty : You are more than welcome Me too. I wish Muslims in all different countries and all over the world will do so, such issues should be published and seen in the newspapers,On TVs booklets etc and circulate them for free. You are more than welcome Nicole YoursSincerely,CatStevens
Asalamu Aleykum Cat, saying it does not naturally mean that they will listen to you. The imam of Makkah has indeed spoken out against terrorism several times but doesnt mean that everybody follows his words. (interpretation of the meaning): For surely it is not the eyes that are blind, but blind are the hearts which are in the breasts. (Quran chapter Hajj)
Then why do terrorists keep coming out of these areas? Ah, I see. The wording wasn't too clear to me, but I understand what it means now, thanks.
cabdirazzaq RE: Asalamu Aleykum wa alukum al salaam wa rahmatuAllahi wa barakatoh RE: Cat, saying it does not naturally mean that they will listen to you. Dear brother, Allah has said: 1) '' Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them) '' Chapter: 87, verse: 9 2) '' So remind them , for you are but a remembrancer. You are not a dictator on them '' '' you are not at all a warder over them'' Chapter: 88, verses: 21&22. 3) '' And remind, for verily, the reminding profits the believers.'' Chapter: 51, verse: 55 1) ''… your duty is only to convey (the Message), and on us is the reckoning.'' Chapter: 13, verse: 40 2) ''Then, if they turn away, your duty is only to convey (the message), in a clear way'' Chapter: 16, verse: 82. Can you speak, write and talk in Arabic? you are at Syria. Yours Sincerely, Cat Stevens
TrippinBTM : RE: Then why do terrorists keep coming out of these areas? We have to meet someone of them to explain to us! I challenge every Muslim who claims that he is doing his brutal acts in the name of Islam to give me their Islamic proofs ??? What are their proofs which are supporting their deeds according to Islamic teachings? Every body can claim that they are doing something in the name of whatever. The saying by claiming is easy, but giving proof is hard. I think that we are all mature enough to do not believe every thing has been said we always should make sure by our selves and by searching neutrally RE: Ah, I see. The wording wasn't too clear to me, but I understand what it means now, thanks. You are very welcome. Yours Sincerely, Cat Stevens
Colours : RE: IF you wanna know the truth I know from where I can find the truth of truths. It is stupid to blame Islam because of the deeds of rare Muslims. Islam is something and terrorist Moslems are something else, they don't have anything supports their claims that their deeds are in the name of Islam, we are mature enough to believe everything has been said, we should make sure by our selves, everybody can claim that he is doing something in the name of whatever. It doesn't mean if you see a bad Moslem that Islam is bad, no, we shouldn't judge Islam according to Moslems deeds. The bible prohibited fornication, but there are many of Christian people who have sex without marriage is that mean that Christianity allows fornication!! Be just and think before talking and giving a suggestion or decisions. Respect others religions and feelings. Yours Sincerely, Cat Stevens
