Anyone have any thoughts on Bush? How would you describe their music? Also pick one song that you enjoy lots (Please dont say Chemicals Between Us... Everyone does) I would have to call their music a intruiging combonation between a kinda electronica sound and a grunge overtone. Song of the Moment: Everything Zen
I used to really like Bush back in the day. I've got all of their CD's, unless they've put one out recently...I haven't been keeping up with them much anymore. I've seen them in concert once back in March '02, they put on a pretty good concert too. I don't know, I mean I still like them, just not as much as I used to.
I'm a fan of Sixteen Stone, but after that they kinda lost me. I will say that I enjoy the remix album, Deconstructed. The remix of "Mouth" rules and so does their cover of "In a Lonely Place". I can't really get into their newer stuff because I think they do the same songs over and over again, and Gavin's lyrics are way too scattered. I can understand "cut and paste" methods of writing and stream-of-consciousness and whatever, but what he's writes just doesn't make any sense half the time. His writing style reminds me a little of Chino's from the Deftones, but Chino's are better. It's like Gavin just comes up with a stream of random, vaguely evocative phrases, and a few catchy lines for the chorus, and there you have it. The electronic elements in their music don't do much for me. Even Radiohead's are more interesting. I'm still waiting for Bush to tap into whatever the heck they were riding when they made Sixteen Stone. "Glycerine" still kicks my ass every time I hear it. And the riffs in "Machinehead" are Hall of Famers. "Alien" is an awesome song. "Bomb" is my favorite" It's one of those albums that has no let-up from beginning to end. And it's a great album to get it on to. Damn. Not that I've given this any thought or anything.
I was a fan of Sixteen Stone when it came out...but yeah, they lost me after that also. I remember when that song "chemicals between us" was on the radio....ugh.....I really hated that song.
