This Morning's songbird ate a fatty worm for breakfast

Clearly heard in her trills and shrills as she danced outside the window

Crystal Cavern relished every morning’s presence

So today's sunrise solo was much appreciated.

Even at seven little Crystal knew of heaven

Peace on Earth on her own piece of earth

Eternal love in the Heavens above

So she thanked her Creator for the songbird, sunshine and surprises.

Surprises! Oh what adventure was to be had this morning!

For today is unique, unlike any other

Only to be what Crystal made it to be

So she grabbed her patched purse o' presents and flew into the sunshine.

A well worn path was the starting line but by no means the rule

That made soft travel for her leathery soles

As she skipped alongside dew laden fern fronds

    Basking in golden sun drops

    Sister Spring Shared Secrets

Seen in every beautiful living creation

Thriving in the woods around her home

Were wonders of nature a plenty

Gnarly tree trunks dripping with moss

Strings of ants like colored beads

A musical chorus of crickets and toads

As the path wound around the brook

    Enchanted by the brooks reflection

She slipped into the gurgling water

Giggling as the brooke tickled her tiny toes

She selected a stone that shone above all others and put it in her purse o’ presents.

A flash of movement a whip of air

As a fairie landed in her hair

    Whispering of nonsense and treasure

And other secrets of the wood

Crystal’s eyes lit up with embers of excitement

Sparking her to leap from the brook and off the path

In pursuit of her new found fairie friend

Who flitted ahead with fiery ambition.

    Breathless with anticipation and exhilaration

Crystal soon found herself lost and alone

Where the trees grew close and thick

With their heads bowed together to chase away sunshine

Frantically she searched for a sliver of sunlight

For light must surely lead the way home

When off to her right glew a glimmer of something

And off she ran trying to flee from her fright

    She pushed through the underbrush

Straight for the circle of trees promising hope

Slipped between ancient vanilla cracked trunks

Into a raw temple of peace and delight.

For inside this ring of strength was shelter and security

In the intense beam of light shining down from above

With awe she moved center stage taking seat amid the mushroom ring

Shrouded by glittering parcels of light

Dreaming of home and its sweet smells and warmth by the hearth

When at once she felt light as a puffy fluffy cloud

Or a pillow so soft against her turned head

Upon which she awoke with a smile and a secret.

At the foot of her bed lay her patched purse o’presents

Which she presently grabbed and opened with glee

As she saw at the bottom amid crushed leaves and dried flowers

The stone she had chosen still shone so faintly.

This is so intimate. Known by another name,
we sing victory with winged feet, while brother mercury
goes retrograde. A star of infinite possibilities,
having integrated the lessons of heaven and earth,
ponders where does rejuvenating lightning come from.
Are we drawn or do we draw this inspiration from
ourselves, while reading well-worn writing on the
stone. Does it read Tiamat, the spell-checking questions?

A bit of both, being drawn and drawing inspiration, the ebb and flow is seen in all areas of creation. As your poem brings me closer to you and also looking deeper within myself for interpretation and raw emotion.

I found such beauty and empathy in your poem.
Have we met, before... for it feels that way.

wow, man, that was very cosmic, very bright. There's something almost childlike about it. Wow.

Citrus seas - Funny you should say that as I wrote the poem for my daughter!!! I tried too look through the eyes of a child but write with bigger people words and lots of alliteration and rhyming (don't rhyme a lot in other poems) but I did in this one just because it sounds funny to kids and its fun to read aloud - very insightful comment!
