So... my dad found out I smoke and grow...

I am your average 20 year old, you know, out of tech school, working, still living at home legally but hardly ever there. Well, I have been smoking weed since I was 15 and my dad has been none the wiser until last nite. I had some seedling growing in pots at my grandma's house, and I know, I was wrong for it, but I had her take care of them for me, and told her they were maple seedlings, and I was trying to start a new bonsai tree. (I grow bonsai trees as a hobby) Over the weekend, I moved the plants to a different spot and told my grandma I had taken them down to my house. I put them behind her garage, very out of the way and no one ever goes there. Should have been okay. Lo and behold, that night the spot light at that corner of the house goes out and of course my dad has to fix it. He finds the plants and calls me while I am at work so he left a voicemail. I checked my messages and got it. I freaked at first, but soon calmed down. There more I thought about it, the more okay I was with it. Everything happens for a reason, right? I knew it about time for me to move out on my own anyway. So, I get home and put on my iron face, preparing to tell my dad all the wrong I have ever done while packing my things at gunpoint. I basically planned to have the heart to with him where afterward he knew everything about me. I walk in the door, and he's at the table, with that look. You know the one. I sit down, say hey, and asked him what was up. All he said was for me to destroy my plants, it was irresponsible and illegal for me to have it around my grandma and my family and all, blah, blah....... And the rage and anger never came. Basically, as far as I can assume, he is totally cool with me smoking pot. Since then, nary an awkward moment has been had, a doubtful word spoken, nothing. I just don't understand.

 

You know, the exact same thing happened to me, and I don't understand it either. I guess my dad knows I know he's a stoner too, and doens't want to break the delicate, unspoken agreement we have not to talk about it.

 

Its so much better broken though. Alotta fun a family affair if you will.

 

Dude, hiding illegal stuff in yer grannies house is pretty fucking low....
