Yeah, they're coming in. They hurt. My dentist hasn't really said anything about taking them out. The top teeth aren't coming in. But the bottom ones are. They've barely broken gum. I wonder how long this will last. Will the surgery hurt?
i heard the surgery hurts from a few friends that have had theres taking out. all 4 of mine are growing in. right now, its the top 2. it switches off. and they've all broken through the gum line. my dentist said there is enough room for them to grow in and that they are growing straight right now. so he said i dont' need the surgery unless i want it. i'm probably gonna opt for it though cuz this switching off from top to bottom is really bothering me.
mine have been trying to come in for almost a year and a half now.....it hurts, man! I have an appt to have them cut out in two weeks and i'm actually looking foward to it because they are causing so many problems....they are triggering migranes and caused me to have an infection in one of my molars. my dentist said that if i didnt remove them, they'd cause more infections. you may not have to get them taken out now, but I'm sure you will, esp if you dont have room for them. i was told that the surgery itself isnt painful (i think you are actually put out for it) but afterwards there is pain....of course you'll proabably get good drugs though...that's the best part~
I have to say that the surgery all depends on the person. I had my wisdom teeth out and four of my molars out at the same time about six months ago. One of my friends had to stay in bed for a week when he got his out. Everyone was telling me that I was going to be rough for a long time. Well, to my suprise I went home after the surgery, slept for three hours, woke up and I was fine. I couldn't eat hard food for about two days (didn't want the stiches to fall out) but besides that it was living normal as usual.
My dentist told me I don't have them. My brother and parents never got them either, but my friends all have. What is the function of wisdom teeth? Does everyone who has them need them removed? I've never really understood that.
From what I understand not everyone has them (I only had three) and if they aren't bothering you (pushing your teeth forward, causing you pain, etc.) you won't need them out.
get them OUT...ASAP. the sooner the better. your recovery time will be so much shorter if you don't wait too long. do it while you're out of school if possible, so you don't have to worry about missing school lying around in a painkiller haze i got mine out at about the phase you are in right now, and i don't regret it. i have a lot of friends who are just now getting theirs removed while they're all painful and impacted. BAD idea...
having my wisdom teeth out was a-okay with me! i know this sounds crazy, but, if you do it in their office, and they give you the smallest amount of anesthesia... that nitrous oxide that you breathe, that makes you real happy and floaty...well i had that, and i listened to my beatles c.d. during it so i couldn't really hear what was going on... that nitrous relaxed me enough to actually watch what was going on, and feel kinda interested in the whole process...that nitrous they give you made the whole thing okay! they'll definitely give you something like that... two days eating basic foods, then i was okay...a little puffy, but okay.
When I had my wisdom teeth out, it didn't really hurt, it was just a bit uncomfortable. You'll bleed about half and hour after your surgery, so don't lie on your back(i choked on my blood )you wont be able to eat solid foods for about a week, so stock up on soup, ice cream and applesauce. And as long as you take the codiene and antibiotics, you'll be fine.
Get them out! Mine have been growing in for four years and i need them out but am afraid to. I know hace absysses on two of them and once in awhile when they start growing again (like today ergh) i have to pop asprin like candy. I'm getting them out soon though as the pain's becoming too much.
