What is wrong with Americans

Phase I: Use the constitution to wrap fish.
Phase II: Allow dubya to convince the rest of the world that he, and in fact all americans, are completely stupid (to get them off guard).
PhaseIII: Collect underpants.
Phase IV: Profit.

In America:


The Bullfight is illegal
so is chicken fighting and Dog fighting.
There is plenty of violence against Islamics in Germany, the red Brigades were form there.
In France there is anti Semetic violence.
Do you remember Sliobodhan Miloslobvec's Balkan wars against
Bosnians, Kosavars, Croats and anyone else in the way?

 

Well I think I made some American angry. Sorry for that.

What I originally meant was that there were so many videos from the states with people fighting. And I just dont understand why they do that. And why people are filming it and encourage the fighter to bash eachother heads, harder.
And it seems to me that Americans likes this stuff.

prankster1590, sounds to me like you really like to stir up trouble yourself, are you sure you aren't an American? Isn't that exactly what you are doing here in this thread, antagonizing everyone (perhaps to get us all angry with you so you can "prove your point")?



Some of us are smart enough to see through your antics however, and simply ignore you because you and I both know that while it is true America does seem to have an unhealthy fascination with violence (and sex for that matter), there are plenty of other problems with the same things in other countries. They are simply better at hiding it, where as Americans like to flaunt such things. I'm sure sociologists are well aware of this and are researching it right this moment.

Have you visited any other country or done in depth research? I have an idea for you. If you are truly concerned with America and its social problems perhaps you could go to college and learn about it and come up with a way to help, rather than sit around on your ass in front of the computer all day long and bitch about Americans because you are obviously either so boring and/or uneducated that you can't think of anything better to do, or you are jealous and you wish that you had whatever it is that you think we have.


Either way, I get the impression that you really don't care to understand "what is wrong with America/Americans" but rather just bitch about something. A sad life to lead my friend. Be productive, and if you care that much, change it. At the very least come up with some ideas to help. Otherwise shut your mouth. I'm so sick and tired of everyone complaining and not doing a god damn thing about it.

I'm confused, are none of you aware of the Asian organized crime rings? There is plenty of violence in Japan and elsewhere, it is just kept under wraps where it belongs. They don't parade it around on the news. They are not like us.

To answer a question way back on the thread, yes Americans to some extent do get off on violence and disaster. It has to do with our culture. I don't know why because I am not a researcher or sociologist, but it is very simple to see just by observing. What I don't understand is what this has to do with anything. What is the point. Yes Americans are violent and sex crazed control freaks. So what? Are you all trying to prove that you are better than us in some way? Ok fine, if that is what you need to boost your ego. I still don't see how any of this matters.

Speaking of the Japanese, what the hell is with the whole penetration-by-alien-tentacles cartoons, buying used little girls' underwear from vending machines, a total lack of age of consent, etc?

 

My friend who just returned from living in Japan told me the age of consent is 13 there...that probably has something to do with the abundance of schoolgirl porn etc.

 

I've never seen or heard any of the things the OP is refering to. I am an American, never left the country, except for a few days in Canada twice. Dude, are you LOOKING for violence? And finding it, on the Internet? Maybe it's you who is obsessed with violence, otherwise why would you even look at the sites you mention. And despite the fact that I am an American, violence makes me ill, so I couldn't even click on your links.

There are 300 million people in this country. We don't all think and act the same. Many of our ancestors came here to get away from violence, intolerance and hatred in the very countries you are telling us are non-violent.

To me there are a few clear realities emerging in this thread:

(1) Prankster you're baiting folks (cutelildeadbear noted this in her posts).

(2) We (Americans posting in this thread) are sensitive to Pranksters "bait". We are sensitive to his bait because it is a mix of truth and untruth, this country is very divided right now about a number of issues; issues too complex for me to easily detail here in this post.

We all owe great debts to eachother, individuals and nations, and for the most part not realizing it to detail. This may sound odd but we are all interconnected; a better approach, Prankster, might be to have compassion and ask poignant direct questions rather than tease with inaccurate statements.

(3) We need to work in this country, largely because of our material power and our stated ideals, to correct the corporate and goverment wrong doing that truly does exist and that effects the entire world. We should not be afraid to openly examine ourselves and our country; we should be aware of our good, what makes us great, and have the courage to look at our errors as this will bring important answers, as this will serve as an example to the rest of the world; an example that by our own committment we must live up to.
