http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/4704297.stm I'm not a real trekkie but I must admit I've been up many a late night watching the original series. One of the best performances( in my limited trekkie dumbdom) was when Scotty pronounced that Spock was, OMG, forgetting. Yep aliens had taken over his brain and Scotty stated it plain and simple, oh shit, he's forgetting. Not a good thing for spock, and ultimately Scotty was the one to save him through some strange thing of engineering. Star Trek inspired my youth in those late hours and Mr. James Doohan deserves a proper standing ovation.
*stands up and ovulates* Yeah, not really a trekkie either but I think the whole 'beam my up Scotty' thing is one of the most recognizable things of Star Trek.. ever. So it's sort of a legacy really.. I wonder if God has already beamed him up to heaven
