i agree that language is the plauge of human civilization. We should all know eachother so well and be so close to one another we can tell how eachother feels with body language there fore makign language useless. Language rips us apart. Keep in mind Flags are not a sign of unity but only a sign of our division.
lol, right. Cause you can describe so much with maneurisms... This guy was probably tripping sack when he posted, there's nothing to take too seriously about it.
i wouldn't say language is the plague of human civilization. you are right - symbols representing objective reality are interpreted many different ways and definitely taken too seriously. But it is our stage in evolution, and until we see them as tools, rather than "truth", we can move on to another stage. I agree that new, more direct methods of communication must be developed - especially the internet which can communicate a subjective reality from billions of miles away. but the internet, as we know, can cause harm and divison if used improperly
Although schizophrenic literally translates to "split mind" it is really just a hold over from the early days of psychology. Today we know that multiple personality disorder and schizophrenia are two seperate syndromes, although they can both be present in the same patient. Think about this though, if we didn't have language we wouldn't have LSD, indoor plumbing, cable television, microwaves, computers, cars, books, or basically anything that makes life tolerable.
Depends, some schizophrenics speak in 'word salads,' just randomly babbled words that don't make any sense at all. But in their minds, it might make perfect sense.
evidently its a different sense than the one we have. its not a matter of what they say. words become more issues of sound and vision, then symbols of meaning. but thats just one element of it, im sure theres more
