I'm having a problem with the road directions to the Quebec Rainbow Gathering site, as posted on the kebekwecaravan home page. I've been able to plot on my Quebec road atlas -- and via Google Maps -- the main highways from Vermont (where I live) via Quebec City to the Charlevoix area between Baie-St-Paul and La Malbaie. But the directions don't say from which of the two main roads in the area do I exit at St-Aime-des-Lacs -- Autoroute 138 or Autoroute 362? To complicate matters, I couldn't locate St-Aime-des-Lacs on any of my road maps. Nor could I locate it at any of the online mapping sites (Mapquest, Yahoo! Maps, Google Maps). I've hit a "blind spot." The last thing I want is to take a wrong turn at Baie-St-Paul and get lost (Not to mention burn up extra fuel unnecessarily, knowing that gasoline is more expensive in Quebec). Can anyone familiar with the Charlevoix region tell me which autoroute do I take eastbound past Baie-St-Paul before exiting at St-Aime-des-Lacs? I plan to depart from Vermont on Saturday morning July 30, so a prompt response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Skeeter
hey skeeter i live in quebec but i know nothing of that area of quebec so i cant really help you but if u could give me the information u have i might be able to help u looking on road maps i have plus i would be interested in going also so that would be a bonus i ve tried getting on a forum called familledelarcenciel/rainbow but its restricted to pviate gold membership ; ) anyways i applied to be part of that family but i havent gotten a response back yet so anyways send me a shout at a.borealis@whale-male.com peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Asguard, but I've already resolved my problem, thanks to a heads-up message I received to utilize Tourisme Quebec's Web site (http://www.bonjourquebec.com). I was able to download a detailed local road map of the Charlevoix region, then use Google Maps http://www.maps.google.com) to trace the exact roads that lead to the site. Google Maps is a VERY cool way to plot a road trip, for it has a feature that juxtaposes GPS satellite photos with map positions to create composite images (And the directions Google provides are much more accurate than Mapquest's). See you at the Gathering. -- Skeeter
