    Hi folks,
I'm from Holland and next summer I'll go to London for 5 days, 6/7-10/7. Now I already found out that whatever you want to do or see it's freakin', freakin' expensive!!! First I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw those prices!
Now I have this question: do you know some attractions which are low budget or even free? I don't have much money but I want to see a lot (typically Dutch...) Please resond if you have a suggestion!
    Bye!

The Tate Modern Gallery...it's near waterloo station...you just have to walk down the river...you'll think you've gone too far...but you'll know when you get there...

it's free, and filled with amazing amazing artwork...you need a full day to get around it all tho...

Most of the museums are free (Natural History museum, Science museum, British Museum, etc.)

If you get out of the tourist areas then eating and drinking will be slightly cheaper, as will nightlife and accomodation.

The riverside walk. It goes from London Bridge to the Houses of Parliment. It passes tonnes of stuff including the Golden Hinde, The Clink Prison, The Globe, The OXO Tower, the Tate, the London Aquarium, and the Houses of Parliment and stuff. The Tate is free and you can go in there, and the London Aquarium isn't but it's really cool.

Just go to London Bridge on the tube and go to the river and walk left. If you can't find the way, then ask someone for the riverside walk.

Oh yeah, and Greenwich is nice for a day out, too. Loads of stuff to see and a beautiful park you can bring a pack lunch to and eat. And there's a market there, too, but I'm not sure which days it's open on.

    Heya.

If im around then we could maybe nmeet up (though im moveing to brighton for uni but i should be back for holidays in July)
Id say go have a look around camden markey, covent garden market (at weekends its best) and Portabello Road :)
Also as Josie and Claire said Tate modern is awsome :) and its a lovely walk along south bank to get there. You CAN go from london bridge tube station because its quicker but the walk from waterloo is so nice i always want to go.
Also if u want to se some theatre its not hard to get cheap last minuite tickets for a lot of the shows at the Old Vic and the National Theatre :)
    love

Camden Market and Portabello Road are too touristy. Greenwich market has all the things they have, even the magic mushrooms stalls

portabello road wasnt too touristy when i went there. and well.. not being funy but kebbalist IS a tourist :p (j/k) also i love doing touristy things too. so many oif us londoner have never done tours of our own city. Never been in the amphibious busses onto the thames, nevere been to the galeries and dont the experiances that we fob off as "touristy" so *shrug* i do them and i thourily enjoy them.

Thanks for all the suggestions, now I know I must see Tate gallery and Greenwich is also a thing I have to see. O yes, one question, what are the prices of the last minute tickets at the theatres? When you go to London you've to see one show at last they told me here. So that's what I'm going to do but when it's too expensive I'll do something that's cheaper.
Thanks a lot, might see you around... :)

In the Science museum, go to the mathematics section and look for the 'Klein bottles'. You will not be disappointed.... ;)

That's a great idea, this "meet up"! What do you suggest?
