Has anybody seen this incredible dvd?? If your a pink floyd fan, or a music fan you must see it. I had never really thought much of pink floyd. Yeah i liked a few of their songs, but i never really paid much notice to them. But after seeing this amazing cd, i couldnt get enough of the band. Now, after 5 months of owning the dvd, i own every cd, every sid barret cd and many of their other movies and documentaries. I have the directors cut version...which has some awesome recording footage (recording dark side of the moon) and a lot of awesome interviews with the band. Also, Pink Floyd sounds incredible live!!! Holy shit. The fist song they play is echoes. I was totally blown away. Evey song is fantastic and sounds way better than on a cd. Also it shows just how talented the band is. It also has some great clips and scenes of nature, and pompeii that are just brilliant...great stuff to watch while your tripping or really high. So everybody please, check this out...it really is worth it.
I agree that its a fantastic film but to me its not really Pink Floyd at their finest. I still recommend it to anyone and everyone, fan or no. I like alot of the studio footage and candidness thats involved. good stuff
I have it, it's an awesome, awesome film. I love Pink Floyd at almost every stage of their development, but I particularly like their developing early work around the time of Meddle. Live At Pompeii is vintage early Floyd (not counting the Barrett years).
I have always liked Meddle, because it had pretty much every style they ever produced...you can hear the pure psychedelia from as far back as saucer, while clearly hinting at the darkside yet to come. amazing album.
i have the dvd too. i love the early 70's floyd; echoes, a saucerful of secrets, one of these days, ... 'live at pompeii' is pink floyd at their best.
If you like the Echoes performed Live at Pompei check out the one on the bootleg Meddler, also know as "Meddled" or "Front Row Center" (one of the few great quality Pink Floyd live recordings). Trust me, you won't even be thinking of Live at Pompeii after that
