Since I've moved into my house four years ago, I've had this gorgeous tree next to my window. My room is in the basement so the window is at ground level with the tree. It was so awesome when the sun came through in the late afternoon and made this glow in my room with patches of light beaming in. (sigh) It was my favorite part of my room. There were birds and squirrels that came to visit too. So yesterday, I came home from work and into my room; opened the blinds and I was completely blinded by the glare coming off of the neighbors' garage next door. The tree was gone. While I was away, my parents decided to chop it down. "it's going to crack the foundation of the house" they said. Needless to say, I was very upset. With the wonderful tree, murdered without my consent, I was sick to my stomach. I'm so pissed. What should I do to avenge the tree's life? Any ideas??
Just like me. I've shed so many tears when the trees in my neighborhood were chopped down one at a time. It's painful. Planting a new tree in it's place will help you feel better and you can nurture it yourelf. It does suck though, everytime a tree is cut. Paz, Josie
Yes, sad that. I think I'll plant some wildflowers in it's place as to not piss of the parents. Or some kind of cactus, since there's such dry conditions here in Colorado. Any Suggestions?
I live in the opposite of dry. A cactus would die in no time flat here. Moss and ferns thrive here! Maybe you could rock off a small area and plant a menagerie of local plants from your nursery...it could be your little garden...your little paradise and you can remember your dear old tree there. Paz, Josie ps. the folks at nurseries love to elaborate on plants...they will set you up...in fact they remind me of librarians (too much help!)
Hey, Josie, I lived in Washington for about a year with my Aunt and Uncle. It's very lush and green there. Beautiful! That's a very good idea, the garden. That would be a great thing to wake up to very morning, it's not my tree, but it's going to do!
That was the saddest story...I remember once some men who worked for the city came and cut half the branches of my favorite climbing tree and then they but some really heavy wire one the bottom branch and forgot to take it off...now the wire is grown right into the tree and I know it must be hurting but it won't come off...Not to mention the tree is really hard to climb now...government creeps... You could just plant a new tree...a really young small one...and take care of it and stuff...
Those bastards! It's hard to lose a tree that you've come to love and enjoy as part of your enviroment every day, it's as if someone has died. I think, though, the garden idea is splendid. I'll plant lots of wild flowers and cactus'.
