ok..i can tell you from years of experience the gatherings are nothing like woodstock..& if u go back there today & comb through every blsade of gras u will not find the tiniest peice of trash..& in 1 year there will be no sign we were ever there..this year they forced us onto land 1/8 the size we usualy use..to force us to impactt the land..yet we dont..we;'ve been praised in every state for how we care for the land read local newspaper adds for every state weve gatherd in..look at the praisse in the modoc press after we gathered on sacred tribal lands & the forresst service tried to force a divission & conflict with local tribes
noone in history has ever cared for the land like the rainbow family..
go wank any site weve used & kook for signs we wrere ever there..all your going to find is signs of the forresst services abuse of the sacred lands entrusted to them

Modoc Country News The Modoc County Record published several articles
about the gathering in CA in 2004.
This one is from after the gathering talking about the high quality of cleanup.
Rainbows Leave Forest Clean, Tidy This next article
is a recap of the 1984 Rainbow Gathering held near Likely.
This next article talks about the Incident Command Team and how they are unnecessary.
Rainbows earn praise for cleanup This was published in the Salt Lake
Tribune a month after the gathering, and talks about the quality of the
cleanup. Recap From PA This is a nice article, where the PA Chief of Police
was interviewed about the previous year's gathering. Not suprisingly, he
says the harsh propoganda put out by the Forest Service turned out to be
completely inaccurate, and that while there few problems, it just wasn't
that bad at all. Plus the local business made over $1,000,000.
Without a Trace A recent article from the Missoula Independent, talking
about how the reality of the Montana gathering, was way less than the
locals had been led to believe.
Oregon Cleanup This is an article from the Oregonian, about how well that
    site has recovered.
Montanna Cleanup This is an article from the Montana Standard about how
    well the site has recovered.
Idaho Cleanup This is an article from the Idaho Stateman, about how well
    that site was cleaned up.
Treading Softly On the Earth:The Rainbow Tribe's Impact on Forest Lands.
This article is an indepth look at the cleanup side of the Rainbow
Gatherings done by a Taos, NM college student. It goes into detail covering
the process of cleanup, and the comments of the various Forest Service's
    District Rangers years later.

thanks for all the reading material!!

just kidding, it was actually really interesting to read about the experiences that people have had in America with large gatherings of people and the impact on the environmen and such...something which some have considered here but not all.

The hippies that go to Rainbow gatherings are REAL hippies. They look after the environment, not destroy it.

One of the reasons the hippies of the Woodstock era trashed the joint was because a lot of them were fair weather hippies. For example, how many of the Woodstock era hippies are still hippies today... It was a fad back then.

hehe yea i know it was alot of stuff to read.. but it definately proves the point that although the forresst service & government as a whole tries using environmental impsact as an excuse for enforcing the permit issue, the real truth is they simpley dont want us to see hoeww they impact the land
ocala national forresst is full of ponds created by missiles & much of it is active bombing ranges, i forget he forresst in missisipi which is overrun with tank ranges not to mention clear cuts, oil drilling strip mines..all sanctioned by the very peopl who claim we trash the land

From what I've heard, the Rainbow Family has gone downhill. People constantly talk about all of the thieves that show up.

Wonder why http://www.welcomehomoe.org is no longer updated? Maybe the webmaster is sick of the crap?

    /just passing along info.

In regards to it being a Fad, you see tho, they were called hippies because it was "hip" wasn't it? thats why. My friends don't call me a hippie they call me a free spirit. and another thing is that what she said was not only untrue but she is trying to get people to join with her to get hippies to stop having rallies all together. Its BS. She contirdicted herself more than once, and its just rally lame that she wants to stop people from praying for peace and things like that.
