I read it was possible to buy paregoric without a perscription in the US provided that you are over 18 and sign an invoice. Is this true? Even more improtantly, does it even have any recreational value?

    Hi,

You used to be able to buy something like paragoric in the US over the counter (you just had to sign for it). It was a diarrhea medicing called Donagel. My ex-husband would dring two or three bottles at a time and get high from the opium content. It could be used recreationally (my ex did) but with all of the other crap in it it sure wasn't good for you.

There's better ways of getting high...

Had some years ago-we would dip our smokes in it and it was OK.
