Whaddya yall think of the Alien saga? Like Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurretion? I think Aliens was the best, followed by Alien, followed by Resurrection, and that Alien 3 was by far the worst. Anyway, I love em all and I have the Quadrilogy.
Me too! Love'em all for different reasons really. In my opinion, Aliens & Resurrection are like action flicks to me, while Alien & Alien 3 are more like suspense/horror. I didn't love it, but I also didn't think Alien vs Predator was THAT bad. Wasn't that good either, but still.. ::shrug::
AvP... the chick teamed up with the predator i mean come on.... i do agree with your rankings, i couldnt even sit through alien 3, amazing how david fincher directed that load of crap.
Yeah, what were Finchers credntials at the time? I think his greatest achievement at the time was directing a madonna music video or something.
yea haha he started with music videos then alien 3 was his theatrical debut, then he went on to direct all those great movies we love, and the nin video only (my sig)
Aliens was my favorite one... Bill Paxton cracked me up.. AvP was horrid.. I could have written a better movie in my sleep.. The whole teaming up thing was dumb, and wtf was with the android from Aliens being in AvP..can someone explain that to me cause that was dumb...
I think I'm just the nerd you're looking for, Mystical The reason that the android from Alien was in AVP was because he (Bishop) was the orginal guy that the android model was created from. Remember, AVP takes place BEFORE the other three movies. Paxton was funny as hell in 2, no doubt about it.
ohhhhhh, AvP takes place before the others...I did not know that...heh, Now I know, and knowing is half the battle... Private Hudson(paxton): "Well that's great, that's just fuckin' great man, now what the fuck are we supposed to do? We're in some real pretty shit now man... That's it man, game over man, game over, man! Game over! What the fuck are we gonna do now? What are we gonna do?"
Alien= Rated R Predator= Rater R Alien Vs Predator= PG-13 Fox doesnt care about the movie itself anymore, they just want it to appeal to a wider audience... speaking of fox THEYRE REMAKING THE OMEN. yea... i know scary!
I heard about that. They're going to release it on 6/6/06 -- June 6th, 2006 -- 666 -- oooooooooo! ::shrug:: Morons. I don't see why people are getting paid to REMAKE movies that have already been made -- especially when the originals aren't all that bad to begin with. I don't mind some of them, like I thought the new Dawn of the Dead was pretty neat, but still.. can't anyone in Hollywood think of something original?!?
Alien is my new favorite movie. It just has that rawness about it that the others lack. I loved Alien 3 too. There were major production problems, and the picture suffered, but if you watch the version in the quadrilogy, they add scenes which were kinda crucial to the plot. I mostly liked the imagery in that one. It was very dark and cold. It had a feeling in the air that was definately different, so it was enjoyable. And, come on, it has a beautiful ending. And seeing the Alien as a dog-like entity was cool. Resurrection is where it got cheesy....
I dunno. To me Alien 3 tried too desperately to have the eeriness of Alien but failed. Also, the setting is very interesting, a prison, yet the director didn't explore that aspect of the movie much. It coulda been loads better. And yes I saw the special edition iof Alien 3. It was better but didn't wow me.
all hollywood is now is remakes, sequels, and adaptations, nothing fresh. theyre going for day of the dead next! i dont think that one can be remade.
