I in no way condone what the guy was doing, since it surely does seem like a case of sexual abuse, but women in today's world have no excuse for not realizing that such scumbag guys are out there waiting to prey on them just like this -- when they get too drunk to be in control of themselves (the women, I mean).

To go out and be sober at the start, and then drink and drink until you aren't even aware that someone is fingering your pussy? YOU are responsible for that turn of events, which you set in motion by making sure to get yourself good and vulnerable. If I set out to cross a street and blindfolded myself first, yes, I could blame the car that hits me for not yielding right-of-way to a pedestrian, but I sure as hell bear culpability for getting hit, since I could have known what I was exposing myself to at the outset. Knowing that survival requires using caution, failure to use caution is inexcusable.

I think thats a very dangerous attitude - she chose to drank and get drunk, maybe she went to far, but its not her fault at all if some guy fingered her without her permission, no matter what state she was in...

Maybe if her parents kept her locked up in her closet while she was growing up with no TV or any magazines could she honestly say she didn't know that lots of guys go to bars to prey on loose women. I don't have a problem with her being fingered in public, especially if an invited male thought he was being sly & going for a quick *tickle* as they walked along, but was more obvious than he realized. However, if she does not remember this happening, especially if she does not remember who this was or did not invite it (by choosing to make out with him & whatnot in the bar, etc.), then she has a real problem. I've gotten shitfaced on many occasions, I've made bad decisions about who to go home with, but I remember making those decisions.

Of course, the other option is that someone slipped something in her drink. Apparently there is a new drug out there -- unlike what I've heard of GHB or roofies, it doesn't knock the girl out, it makes her quite eager for sex AND has amnesiac effects. A friend of mine was targeted a couple of weeks ago -- luckily she was out with a group of friends who made sure she got home safely. However, a friend of hers works in a hospital & said that there have been over 300 cases of this in the past few months (which means how many were drugged but didn't go to the hospital?). The biggest problem with the women who are brought in, according to this person, is that they will be stuck in bed, but call out to anyone who comes by to fuck them or whatever. Again, most women do not remember what happened while on this new drug, making it especially attractive to rapists.

So, women, when you go out to drink, do not EVER leave your drink unattended. Keep it with you at all times, or make sure it is watched by someone you trust completely, like a best friend, not just some guy you've been on two dates with.

 

Yes, the woman has to be held responsible for her OWN actions...such as don't get blackout drunk. BUT, to have some random guy invade her body like that? How can that be her fault? If a girl is passed out at a party, and some guy(s) rape her, should she be held partially responsible because she "shouldn't have gotten so drunk?" That is ludicrous. Men like that guy think that they CAN take advantage of drunk women. And they will. Maybe see how far they can go. Good point, Sugr. Unfortunatley, most rape cases are dismissed if it's discovered the woman has been drinking. I was just saying that by getting that drunk, she's making herself more vulnerable to those types of situations. Of course, sober women get raped too.
