hey, i almost had my tongue pieced day on a spur of the moment but I didn't have enough money in my account, so I would like to know some details before i go ahead and do it anyway, does it affect your speech for a while, because i need my voice quite clear for work, but i really really really want it done, thank you, peace and love michael xxx
in so far as I know (I've never had mine pierced, this is just stuff I've read about) it makes your tongue swell up for anywhere from a few hours to a few days. That can affect your speech and enunciation, but it is temporary. Maybe you could book that day off work or do it when you have a day or two off, just so you don't have to worry about it.
your tounge will be swollen and will probably effect your speech for a few days to a week.....i had a lisp for about 4 days. I was fine with work (on the phone some) people probably just thought I had a speech impedement.
didnt effecxt my speech either time.. now twice.. dosent hurt, just do what they tell you and youre set..
Well, if you are going to get it pierced...you should probably do it on a weekend or something, a time that you dont have to work. When I got mine pierced, yea it affected my speech for the first day or so...but after that it was back. If and when you go and get it done, just follow their directions and be careful in keeping it clean and such. HAPPY LICKING!
the piercing part was painless and it was only sore a few days. I had a small lisp for a couple of days but nobody really noticed. at work i just tried extra hard to enunciate my s's.
I had a slight lisp for about 2/3 hours after that it was fine it just throbbed a little when I ate for about 4/5 days, but you should be cool, do it on a Friday after work, just in case
Mine was swollen for the the first day, however sucking on ice cubes/eating an iceblock (and mouthwashing afterwards, of course) helped lessen the swelling. Perhaps you can do this a few hours before work if need be. But like what other people said, just do it when you know you have a couple days off. That's for a tongue piercing vertically through the tongue though.
