just means you can find the bloody thing if you need to!!

    :p
I think that he idea of the horoscope or such a symbol is a really nice idea....I never like portraits as much myself as symbols as I think they are a really hard thing to get right, even on paper! I saw a really nice star sign tatt for a virgo in a thread here...think it was someone replying to one by funkyfreshmama....you have time so get collecting or drawing girl!!!
    :)

My baby is actually going to be a virgo, I;d like to see that one. Maybe I could do some kind of alteration of it if I like it.
actually, funkyphresh is only 3 days further along than I am! lol, I thought that was cool!

yeah, ttm. portrait tattoos are a definite specialty - if that's what you want though, you should wait. save up for the one that you really want. you are gonna have this baby for the rest of your life :)

and stephaniesomewhere, yeah, i agree some 'homemade' tattoos can be quite amazing works of art. any tattoo artist worth letting ink you will be able to PROVE to you what sterilization is done on the equipment, and it can be done in the home. autoclaves are the way to go - boiling and bleach DO NOT WORK. i have seen even some jailhouse tats that were incredible (but definitly a risk there - NO sterilization) it's all in the artist - and a true artist will not jepordize the art. tattooing has been a largly self-regulated industry for the most part, tattoo-ers don't like 'scratchers'

I dont really want the portrait, it was just a thought. They're too big and too painful, lol!
I like the idea of getting the horoscope sign or something. Something symbolic. I like to explain all the things that I have done to people, it's fun.

another reason to hold off is stretched skin. Preggy mamas hold water and that stretches the skin...like getting a tat and then dieting off 35 pounds.
also, if you have metal below your chin: take it out. After labor, a peircing is NOTHING.

no one in their right mind will pierce a tattoo a pregnant woman..why?...chance that if the pain either startles you or anything you could have complications..its a liability for the shop

congrats on your upcoming baby. hope all goes well. glad to hear you are waiting and will pick a personal tat to welcome your new babe. i like the precious moments idea along with his/her birthdate. someday he will love hearing the story of how mommy and daddy got matching tatoos to remember him by.
