With the spin on the genie in the bottle story in which a person has only ONE wish instead of three, why doesn't the person say, "I wish to be able to tap into your power<s> ONLY when I want them... then they go back to you." Is there something wrong with that wish that would make it backfire or not work? Only thing I could think of is that it might only work once.
Don't genies have to serve whoever rubs their lamp though? And I'm pretty sure they just live their to get out of the hot weather in Baghdad. Plus, nobody wants to hang out with Americans that long.
