If that's the case you might want to reconsider rephrasing your question.

well man you gotta understand that they bleed for a week & dont die....nothing in nature can do that, so they think that gives them all the permission in the world to take it out on us...like its our fault

    Gentlemen,

Assuming that a woman is in a bad mood because of her cycle is a mistake. Women can be in a bad mood at anytime. The only mistake bigger than making that assumption is speaking it aloud.

Women have periods. Women have good moods and bad moods. Whether the two are connected, no one except the particular woman in question can tell.

Wow all the previous posters were guys  I don't know why we grumpy  Might have something to do with the fact that we have to constantly change tampons and you have to find a discreet way to slip them with you to the restroom room while in the middle of class and that if you're not careful you get a red stain in the middle of your favorite panties or maybe because it hurts...........I'd like to see YOU deal with a period for a week once a month for the rest of your life. :)

You'd be bitchy too if you were bleeding and feeling like someone's sticking burning needles into your tummy and back and thighs and all you can do is wait for the pain to go away but it only goes away for a few weeks and then it comes back and you're basically stuck with it for about 40 years of your life. It's so fun to be a woman, eh? :D

I don't know. I don't get grumpy during my period.

Unless it's morning. But that's not just during my period...

some women might be bitchy (to varying degrees) for many reasons during their period... one of which is others assuming her behavior is based soley on her menstrual cycle.

    nothing in nature?
funny, cause i thought women were a part of nature... are all the other female mammals who menstruate not part of nature, too?

I know I get bitchy right before my period, which is a sign that its coming soon. Hormones are all out of wack. Your tierd, your back hurts and your lower abdomen has pains. Your skin gets oily and you feel gross. Then you have to deal with tampons or pads. Your skin breaks out. You have to worry about leaking. Forget about having sex. Not to mention that it is uncomfortable when you bleed. Then you have to deal with people mainly men saying how bitchy you are. I guess its worth it for the babies :) So if your a guy be thankful that some of us women get bitchy because of our periods otherwise you might not be here.

PMS is a very difficult thing to explain. You harmones are changing, your abdoman is swollen, some women accually get sick while menses is taking place.

It's a chemical change and it affects the whole being. But it isn't like we want to be out of control it's a fact of nature and we have to ride it out.

As far as being bitchie, if left alone with a heating pad and pain releiver we do quite nicely.

I never had what they call PMS, I'm a bitch all the time.

    Associated symtoms of PMS

    1. Strong opinions

    2. Speaking out for/againts issues

    3. Voiceing dissaproval of filthy rooms and clutterd garages

    4. Showing malcontent after falling into the toilet bc the seat was left up in the middle of the night

    5. Flipping the bird to the guy that just cut you off and made you miss your exit

    6. Breaking down crying bc the baby spitup on your blouse and made you late for an improtant meeting.

I probbaly could go on for hours but I think I'll stop here.

Feel free to pick up where I left off Ladies. :)

    exactly...

My periods last two or more weeks and are the most painful in the world that I vomit or sleep for days cause I cant even move. And I bleed so bad that I sometimes cant leave my house...(thanks to endo)
And the bloating, back aches, nausea, headaches...just wears you out and its not a fun time.
And its not that women are bitchy as you put it so lovely..like shameless said its the hormones..
I dont get bitchy I just get worn out and tired and just want to be left alone and when you are in constant horrid pain, its really hard to try to be rational about things....

Gee, that would be hilariously funny........if I hadn't already heard it 300 times, seen it on bumper stickers, tee shirts ect.........

If you knew anyting about the animal female, you would know that ALL female mammals in nature bleed for various times and don't "die." Many of them much longer than a week. Some canines can bleed in estrues for up to 4 weeks. The female anatomy is made to release the blood which was stored in the uterus for the previous non bleeding time (plus some extra) there is noting "unnatural" about it at all.

Actually there is some evidence that some womyn actually hold so much water in their tissues while and before menstruation that it can exert pressure on the Temporal Lobe of the brain, causing some mild irritability. But like I tell my dh "Don't get on my case because I react for a week every month the way you do every day." LOL, ha ha a masculinist joke.
