Tell your stories about your experience with the paranormal in this thread.

    my storys:

    1. One night, I was in my room and the air was calm. I had a car air freshener hanging in my room which I noticed started to swing then stopped. As I said the air was calm there was no way it was done by wind.

    2. This story freaked me out. I woke up around dawn with the feeling that someone was poking me. I jumped up and noticed the door was closed and nobody was in the room.

    Well,let's see....
I was at a friend's house, and we were there alone. The lights would turn on and turn off on their own. Also, the water faucet would turn on full blast,on it's own..no one even near the room it was in. A loud slamming noise, coming from upstairs while we were downstairs. There was definitely no one else in the house.

There's an old hollow road near my house...driving through there one night,I was in the passenger side looking out the window..and I saw what appeared to be a house in the middle of an abandoned field....but the house looked like a vision,it was white and misty looking, not like a real house. I also saw lights across the field on a few occassions, they looked like lights from lanterns...again,the field was abandoned, couldn't see anyone there, just the lights. Later on,I went to the field during daylight...I found the remains of an old burned down house...and there was also an abandoned mining shaft, that was all boarded up,right where I had seen the lantern looking lights.

That's just a few of the experiences I've had...strange stuff,I've never known how to explain any of it,other than it being paranormal.

Me and my friend were sitting in front of the Tv and had on a candle all of the sudden the candle blew out and a figure resembling my grandfather stood there and my dogs went nuts barking at it. That was weird and then he just vanished.

I had some bloody horrible experiences with a ouija board when I was younger.....not playing with one of them again

...seen lotsa wierd shit, but think most of that was due to me mind, rather than the paranormal

Me,too! Ugh,I still won't go near one of those things, because of the experiences I had. I actually burned the ouija board soon afterwards, because I was that freaked out by the thing...and yes, they do burn. I've heard that they will not burn and that sometimes they will fly out of the fire...but it burned normally.

Staircases and doorways are common places for spirits to inhabit. They are in a state of transition themselves, between live and death, and stairs and doorways are also transitional places.

I lived in a house when I was a child which was haunted. I used to think there was a little girl in the house. You would hear a ball bouncing down the stairs at night, the light switches would go off and on (but the light would stay the way it was, it had two switches one at the top of the stairs and one at the bottom and we would wake up in the morning with BOTH switches on the ON position.) Once a manual record player (with a child's record on it) turned itself on. The basement door would rumble and shake, and we couldn't keep a babysitter, because they all said "something was looking at me" or they would get freaked out by the creaking, footsteps and basement door shaking all the time.

We would hear notes being hit on the piano when no one was in the dining room. And my mother had this crystal, wine glasses, and we could hear them "pinging" like someone was hitting them, when no one was in the room. One my mother found one of the glasses cut RIGHT THROUGH, like someone had used a glass cutter, the top just sliced off. It was just sitting there on top of the rest of the glasses, she must have "pinged it" too hard! :) Also, on occasion, when I was alone, I would hear growling outside, when there were no dogs there. And once, I was in the dining room and I saw what looked like ball lightening, racing through the yard toward the house, on the clotheline. It dissapeared with a POP, right before it got to the house. Ball lighteneing is a form of plasma, which often accompanies hauntings.

While we lived there (I lived there from the time I was about 6 until I was about 14) I had a dream that a little girl's clothing was laid out in the street in front of the house. The shirt, the little shorts, socks and shoes and they were covered with blood. Freaked me right out.

People used to drag race on that street, because it was at the top of a hill, so my dad started a petition to get the street made One Way going UP the hill. While he was doing reseach at the library, he found out that a child had lived in our home (I think in the late 40s or early 50s, but I don't remember) and she had been killed by drag racers right in front of the house. Old people in the neighbor hood comfirmed that a child had been killed in that street. (In fact, while we lived there, an old womyn was killed by a drag racer just a few doors away. It was very dangerous.) When the new law was passed (thanks to my dad, he was terrified an other child would be killed or hurt.) and the street was made One Way, the spirit activity slowed down a little, but the place was always weird. I dreamed about that house for decades after we moved out.

These boards open doors and veils which can let ANYTHING through. Many think they are a magnet for wandering spirits and even lesser demons. Often these less than desirable beings will pretend to be the ones you are trying to contact, just to get attention, and to get messages out.

I have seen houses actually quite safe before the introduction of one of these boards, which had to be Blessed after their use due to less than desirable beings refusing to leave. Refusal to leave, after a session with one of these is VERY common. Stay away from the Damned things. I do mean DAMNED things.

When I was a child my family lived in a house that was haunted. I was the only one in the family who ever saw the paranormal activities and the rest of the family all thought I was making it all up. But I know what I saw was real and it still gives me chills to think about it. Things always happened in my bedroom and it was always cold in my bedroom even in the summer. Often I would hear footsteps just outside my door and a little boy would come in the room and kneel over my bed. I had a toy car that I loved. One night I heard the wheels of that car squeaking like it was rolling. I went in the room and a hand had my toy car. No arm, no body just a hand. I ran out of the room in fright. I never saw that toy car again. When I would wake up in my room objects in my room would have been moved to different positions from where I left them. Another thing that happened that was unrelated was on the day my gramdmother died I saw her doppleganger standing over my baby brother's crib. We moved away from that house when I was 13 years old and I never had any more paranormal experiences.

I've had a lot of crazy experiences in my youth, some of which I've block out, some others I can remember.

In particular, we used to live in a house built in the 50's (the time was the 90's), while I was growing up. From about the age of 2 to 2nd grade I lived in this house, and honesly, it scared the living hell out of me.

I have many experiences, of foreign people in my room with me. On one occasion I looked up to find an old man leaning over and staring at me. Forunately my mother was very caring (at the time) and right across the hall, so I could always call for help. On another occasion I rolled over and felt a body next to mine.

My dad also walked by our closet to see our neighbor standing insides. He did a double take and the neighbor was gone. A few day's later, we found out that the neighbor had infact died a couple days prior to that event. I have a ton of more strange events in that house, but I've tried to block a lot of them out over time.

From the time we moved into a new house, I did not have any more experiences like that. Sure, I was afraid to go in the basement, but the house seemed "clean" to me. By the time I graduated from 6th grade, we had built a new house on 5 acres. This new house (which I am currently living in) has had some VERY odd events happen. It's hard to talk about them because they get me so worked up, but I will, just to share my experiences.

About a year after we moved in, we would be hearing strange noises very often. One time my dad was outside and heard me banging around in my room, and he needed my help, so he went up to fetch me. Suprise, I wasn't in my room, I was at a friends house... When my parents were gone and I'd be downstairs at the computer, I'd often hear banging and footsteps overhead. I still get scared just thinking about the damn things. This would happen all the time, and my parents would always be skeptical of what I had to say.

I remember on a few nights, I actually felt something touch me as I was laying in bed. Once it touched my head, and another time I felt someone touch my armpit as I had my arm stretched out.

The worst occasion by far, was the summer of 8th grade. My father had left on a trip for one week, and left me some yard work to do right outside of my parents bedroom. My mom was away at work, and I was outside doing my work. As I worked I would hear noises coming from upstairs. I tried to continue, but I got scared. For some reason, I went back into the house and onto the computer downstairs. The noises got louder, more intense, and more frequent... Suddenly the banging was very profound, and for the first time, I heard the footsteps walking down the stairs. At this point I started crying (yes, I was crying) and I called my mom at work hysterical for her to come home. I was sitting in the corner of the room waiting for my mom to come home, and the footsteps kept walking up and down the stairs. I started hearing scratching on the walls outside, and banging getting closer and closer to the room.

Finally my mom made it home, and everything stopped. All 3 of us (my mother, father, and myself) had experiences these things, and I had clearly gotten the worst of it. We talked to my Dad about it, and the noises ceased after that. My dad told me a few months later that when he was alone in the house, he heard the noises, and he marched upstairs and confronted them. He told me that he talked "to" them, saying that it was our house, and that they had no business being in here.

For the most part, that was the end of the experience. A few months ago however, I have noticed that these noises have occured briefly. I'm in my senior year (12th grade) right now, so you can get some sort of a timeline.

I have to say, these stories are very odd. I don't really "believe" in ghosts, but it's obvious that these events were more than anything within the range of normalness. For some reason, I have always been plagued with these events, 2nd to 7th grade excluded. Still, I'm just an average kid.

the only time i ever remmeber seing something like a ghost was when i was verry young, but it is a memory that has stayed with me. im sure it was not just a dream. i got out of my bed, and looked around. there were 5 or 6 people sitting in my room, all beconing me to come closer. i looked at my stuffed toy, and it smiled at me. i got really scared, and ran into my parents room and slept with them. this happened when i was only 4 i think... btu as i said above it has stuck with me. i used to also have halucinations of a ghost living under my bed, and i actually talked to it...

i used to have all kinds of weird things happen in my house. the tv used to change channels and go on and off, my stero would come on and the volume would go all the way up in the middle of the night. i had a music box that would play by itself. i've had things fall off counters and out off cupboards for no reason. for awhile i was reading alot wicca and witchcraft. i played with oujia and did a few candle burning things...spells i guess. things got worse. my room used to be 5 degrees colder than the rest of the house. i used to be terrified of my room. i will just have that feeling that i wasn't alone. they was really negative energy in there. i don't know what happen but everything died down. my room is totally alright. every once in awhile something happens but i don't feel the negative energy i used. oh when things we really...off here i was also in a really bad state of mind....i really think it was something i welcomed in to my home (via the oujia) that was dark and played off my darkness.

I'm 16 and have never had a paranormal expereince. I used to be shit scared of ghosts but never had a real reason to be. I still get a freaky feeling at the bottom of my stairs and when I'm walking into my room, but that might just be paranoia still lingering from my ghost phase...I dunno.
