Marie Laveau is a famous New Orleans voodoo priestess, and it is believed that if you make a wish on her grave, she will grant the wish for you.

Didn't work for me. Well, yet. Mind you, it has been eight years.

I just got back from New Orleans, though didn't go to see her tomb. Did manage to go to some pretty cool stores though.

You will love it. I'm going back down there in September when John flies down to move me up to Ontario. I can hardly wait to go back.

Ooo! I'm reading a book on her and her daughter. Voodoo is a big fascination of mine.

I've just gotten more into it, doing quite a bit of research, quite fascinating!

    She was moved twice.
Her second burial place was in Camp Salmon,
outside of New Orleans by quite a few miles.
This small camp is a place where boy-scout outings are held.
Its very remote and the road to the cemetery
is blocked off by abandoned cars.

    My friend daniel took pictures...
Black Madonna, red and white candles one open tomb,
not hers, some bones... including chicken bones.

    I walked very carefully.

There is a big difference between a public
    and private voodoo site.

My Mother & Brother live in New Orleans as well as my oldest poet
friend Courtney. He was once pagan, but now he is more a sensualist
with a huge streak of rationality. Rambles....

    Blessed Be.

Lived in New Orleans for 13 years and last visited for Jazz fest. :)
So what are your favorite places to visit?
    Do you like seafood?
Can we share a few words?
