Can you believe this shit?!

I didn't know where to post this, so i'm posting it here.

Last night i was driving down the highway, jammin and minding my own business. The speed limit was like 45, and I was going about 46-47. (I watch it because if i get another ticket i might loose my licenses...hehe) Anyways, this cop flips on his blue lights and pulls me over. I'm like what the fuck, and then another cop comes up, blocking me into the ramp. They both get out, go around behind my car and start reading my stickers. (I have a lot of anti bush stickers, and buddhist related stickers on there ) Then they come around, open my pack doors and start looking through my car with flash lights. One of the cops comes up, shines a light in my face and ask for registration and id. Then went back to his car and starts running my plates or whatever. The other cop stood there, next to the passanger door with his hand on his gun, ready to pull it out, and shinning the light at me. I'm like "what the fuck dude, what did i do?" Then he says that theres a brake light and tail light out, and that theres a lot of drug trafficking in that area, and that i could be a threat. !?!?!?!? The other cop comes back with my licences and says "You know, bush has done some really great things for this country". And I'm like ...like what? And he says "well, watch the news..you need to be aware of whats being done for you in this country." And i said "You need to be aware of my driving, and if im harming someones life..not my political choice". Then he said I was being a little smart ass and he could take me in for that!!!!!! Then told me to have a good night, get with my "pops" and have him fix my brake light, then left!!!! What the FUCK!? That has never ever happened! When I got home I had my friend look at my lights and there wasn't a brake light or tail light out on my car!

 

man I fucking hate cops. they're such pigs.


either they were profiling or they were just suspicious of your car. As long as you didn't get a ticket for anything then it's good. But he cannot take you in for being a smartass. As far as the Bush thing goes, everybody has their political opinions but it is not necessary for them to be telling you who to stand by, who to vote for, or who to trust because it probably does not affect you anyways. whether you're democratic, republican, or anti-government, everybody has their own fucking political opinions and they all have freedom to express them in their own way.

 

Cops get bored too, they like to fuck with young people.

 

For one thing they can't just open up your doors and start looking without either getting permission or getting a positive hit from a drug dog. Then again you live in GA and they don't give a rat's behind about the Constitution. If any cops harrass you about any anti Bush stickers just point out that Bush slashed Federal funding for Law Enforcement Officers and that the Gov't spends more money in one week on the Iraq War than they did all last year on first responders which includes EMT's, Fire fighters and Law Enforcement Officers. Also point out the $500 Billion budget deficit as well as the 1,800 soldiers killed in Iraq.

Another thing you can do is keep a little note pad and pen handy and ask the officer for his name and badge number as they are obliged to give it to you if you ask. Something else you can do is get one of those micro cassette recorders and hit record as soon as the officer gets to your car door.

Above all be courteous and respectful to cops even if they do not react so in return. Being courteous and respectful towards rude *ssholes make you the better person.

Unfortunately many cops are very rude and unprofessional but there are cops that are courteous and act in a professional manner but it seems that these guys are in the minority.

 

Worst part about that story is that the cops did nothing against the law. And they could have done more. As long as the Patriot Act is still alive cops can do whatever the hell they want.

 

I'm sure there IS drug trafficking in that area, but if you would've read my story correctly I said that when I got home my friend and I checked my tail light and there was NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. There was no reason to pull me over except for the stickers, which aren't harming anyone's life. No, he didn't arrest me but he THREATENED ME! And the moral of the story was that yes, cops are assholes. I was simply ranting about my story here because there are like minded people that get pissed off about the same shit i do. Fucking christ. Simmer down!

 

Still, what they did was clearly an illegal search. If they had found anything (not saying you had anything) they wouldn't have been able to use it in court. You could probably have taken their squad car # and had them disciplined...

One of the passages (for lack of a better word) in the Patriot Act details that law enforcement officers can forgo any of the usual niceties if they beleive a terrorist or terrorist sympathiser is involved.

She had anti-bush insignia on her car, under the patriot act that's reason enough to be able to search.

/Fun patriot act FOTD - Police can detain any war protester as a terrorist and keep them jail for an indefinite ammount of time!

 

I don't suggest that I understand the whole Act. My legalese skills are very poor. But, Patriot II provides a defense for federal agents who engage unauthorized searches or surveillances when they are acting "pursuant to a lawful authorization from the President or the Attorney General."

Perhaps I am misinterpreting ?

 

End the Drug War and those cops can do more important things like save someone from getting murdered, robbed or raped.

There are these anti-Iraq war yellow ribbon stickers now that say things such as "Stop the Invasions", "Stop the Killing", "Bush Killed My Son", etc. I wonder how many of those people get stopped by the cops or have their tires slashed.

I would have gotten the cops' names and badge numbers. If they did enter your car without asking, it's probably on their video. If you went up against them enough legally they might leave you alone the next time.

I've gotten stopped a few times by cops who had little reason for it. I'm able to mentally out-maneuver the younger cops. It can get them extremely frustrated, especially the ones who are trying to play completely by the rule book and don't have enough intelligence to ask the right questions. I've had a few who gave up and walked away. It's almost humorous at times.

You don't have to do anything if they ask you to do something, only when they order you to. They may say things such as "Do you mind if we look in the trunk?" You're not obligated to let them into the trunk.

umm the cops wre in the rong for several reasons..it was an illehgal stop..an illegal search & was harrassment
back in the day here in philly we had a problem with the cops randomly harrassing people, they even swarmed a freinds house, hewas on the porch unlocking the door when 8 cars show up the cops had tape over theyre badge numbers & parked in a way so you couldnt see the plates or car numbers.
they claimed he was breaking into his own house & forced him to produce a key..which they then used to swarm into the house & started besatting everyone they saw untill about 15 people came running down the stairs then the cops ran out driving away backwafrds
the following day i went with the guy whos key they used to the mayores action center & spoke with the supervisor, who then drove us to the local district statioon to anonomously point out the cops involved
3 days later 2 of the same cops came by being extremely freindly & appologized
my point is..asshole cops cant be assholes when you dont let them get away with being assholes

another story, at 1 gathering there waa truck i saw decorated with pot leaves & all sorts of pro pot slogans & in huge letters on the back it said "don;t you dare even think of searchung this vehicle" now this truck had homemade plexiglas doors & looked like it wouldnt pass inspection anywshere..& the driver said he had 2 pounds of weed in the truck.. but even after a 2500 mile drive not 1 cop pulled him over.
if your aware of your rights, you would have had every right to request a ticket or request to leave & they would have had to let you go. without searching the vehicle or harrassing you, & you still have the right to file a complaint against them.

 

Well folks, for anyone wanting to run drugs, just put a lot of pro-Bush stickers and those WalMart yellow 'support of troops' stickers on your cars. Most of the police are too busy profiling people and too dumb to think you would be carrying drugs with those kinds of stickers.

Once I was driving home from work late @ 2am after I picked up my daughter from the sitter. I was in my neighbor-a historic neighborhood with a good mix of rich people and college kids-you know the type. Anyway, I notice this car following me with NO LIGHTS ON. So, I drove all around the neighboorhood before going home-I thought I lost him. As I got out of my car, the other car pulled up behind me and turned its lights on and a cop got out. He asked me why I was driving suspiciously and whose house was this. I said it's my house and I was driving like that because I was scared of the creepy car following me with no lights on. Then I got my daughter out of the back seat. He said that there had been some break-ins lately. I told him that I surely wasn't breaking into my house with my 2 yearold-and if he'd like, he could watch me unlock my door. He apologized and left. Cops can do a whole lot and make up justification for it.

 

Being an asshole isn't illegal, but it's still being an asshole.
