You have every right to be here, but I always wonder why people who aren't hippys, and who seem to hate and despise hippys come here for?

I mean, you have a right to post here, Gilligan, but WHY of all the sites on the net, do you choose a HIPPY board, if you are so resentful and contemptuous of hippys? I just don't understand. I don't post on "ProBush, Nascar watchin, Walmart shoppin, Right Wing" sites, telling them how wrong they are about everything, why, if you don't like hippys, do you want to be surrounded by them?

It's the world view and political ideas that make me profoundly uncomfortable around neoconservatives. The idea of profits for large corporations as being the greatest good rather than the needs of all people and the environment strikes me as profoundly evil. The values of the Republican party are about as diametrically opposed to my personal values as it is possible to get.

However, I don't hate Republicans and find some of them to be "nice."

I thought Clinton would be a really different president when he campaigned in favor of universal health care when he was running for his 1st term. I was wrong. He didn't do anything skillful at all to shepherd that initiative through Congress-instead, he let the Republicans kick the ball around and call him a 'socialist', etc., and the whole idea of universal health insurance that he had campaigned on died on the vine. It didn't even seem to bother him that much.

I would say, if anything, that Clinton was the most harmless of the four, but that's really not by much. That's if I was forced to choose one.
