OK so I'm desperate for a job a monday-friday 8am to 4pm job. The town I live in is short in jobs so I have a plan. I'm going to put up flyers in free places first coffee shops then who knows. I have put my applications every ware and my bills are not going to go away. I was going to put in bold letters FOR SALE but thought better. I'm thinking MISS EVERYTHING I can do a lot but I don't have a collage degree. My abilities are cleaning, organization, laundry, cooking, delivery, children, art, doll making, knitting hats, stitching, gardening, and a lot more. Do you or anyone have a suggestion. I'm putting the flyers out in a day or so. Thanks Pacita
you could talk to businesses professionally and see if they would want to sell your hats, for example. if there's a hip clothing store in town, they might want to stock your gear. i think you'd sell a lot more hats that way, then just by advertising it as one of many talents on a flyer. hat-making, for example, gets overshadowed on the list, and it doesn't get to shine through on it's own. people dont really look for hatmakers on a list on a flyer... but they do scan flyers to find babysitters and things of that sort. if you're set on the flyer idea, i'd try to make different flyers that focus on different talents, depending upon where you put them up. for example, put flyers up that just focus on your gardening skills in garden centers and such. make it appear as if it's your specialty, and people will be more likely to choose you over someone else. maybe there's a bullitain board at the playground/park where you could advertise childcare. find out where old folks hang out, and put up flyers advertising that you not only pick up the groceries, you cook them, too. it's better to look like an expert in one area, than just a dabbler in many. they'd take you more seriously, the focus will be on you and your skills, not how much money you need. show how you can help them, not how they can help you. if you appear like you're in desparate need of money, that might raise suspicion... i'm not trying to be harsh, but if you come across as desparate for money, some people might be less likely to trust that you won't steal something when you clean their house. i hope this helps. good luck!

Thanks I needed that Job hunting can put someone over the edge some times like me. I know the right job will come up I'm just not sure when. I'm thinking that more schooling might be what I need. Thanks every one!! love Pacita
I've found that if you go to construction companies and independent contractors and ask if they need a cleaner for their properties. Price your houses like 65-80 bucks a house ( no one in douglasville, georgia will pay more than that unless the house is huge....but it may be different where you live) I worked with a company out of atlanta for about a year and the man who owned it started out paying me by the house, then after a few weeks started paying me hourly and I started bringing home like 800 bucks a week! But you have to clean like MAD, and super fast. I was cleaning like three or four houses a day. You could also try calling real estate offices. Sometimes they look for cleaners. Big businesses will pay you to clean their offices at night too. Me and a friend did that too. We got paid like 200 bucks a night for cleaning on mon, wed, and friday nights. if you aren't into cleaning all day or whatever, try delivering pizza or food. Try delivering mail too ( or news papers). Landscapping companies will hire anyone with experience in gardening, or land scapping, and i met some frikin cool people doing that type of work. Lots of hippies. It pays okay, and you get to be outside, planting, and around nature so its nice. What about temp services? Maybe you could try those people. Good luck!!
Where do you live in alabama? Every state has a WIA (workforce investment act). I work at a place -One Stpop career center-that is funded by WIA. It is funded by the Dept. of Labor or Employment Security Commission. They will help you find a job based on your skills-the also have programs for people you don't really have transferable skills or have some barrier to employment. At that point, they provide training-ie send you to school (for free). If you tell me where you live, I can help you locate the closest One Stop-or comparable WIA funded site.
Why Don't You Make Dolls And Doll Cloths And Go Around And Ask If Anyone Wants To Buy One Or Ask The Stores If They Would Like To By Your Dolls

Starting one's own business is a HUGE expenditure. It requires great outlay of money, a period of not making any money (most people in business for themselves go out of business in the first or second year) and almost NO businesses make ANY profit for at least the first year. I went into my own business, I have two Master's Degrees and a specialty Registration in what I do. The initial outlay would have been impossible, without a lot of credit (which I had) and even though I had plenty of contacts in my field, it took me more than a year to even break even. Unless she does day care, someone who NEEDS a job now to survive would not want to go into her own business, especially without knowing the ins and outs of that particular business.
